he can't see why I am upset.... the risk is just too much to take imo. Iam really pissed off as he is so flippant about it.

I have to admit that I've cycled home after 3 pints.

With lights, and obeying all the traffic signals, of course.

I don't know if that makes it right, but I know I have done it.

You don't get points on your driving license for cycling drunk, this is a very old urban myth.

Also - unwind the rubber band a few turns, Op, you're a bit blurred at the edges.

I did have a friend who was once stopped for speeding on his pushbike - but it was downhill and with a following wind, and I don't think he was fined - just given a bit of a lecture.

Not an ideal thing to do i agree but there ae far worse things you know??

TBH I think my cycling after more than 3 pints is safer, more steady, and easier for drivers to predict what I'll do next (indicating, wearing lights, etc) than the average sober person on a bike in my town.

I cycled to the 24hr garage one night (pre DC's) pissed as a fart. Thought I was doing really well and being terribly careful, crashed in to a lampost and ended up sprawled on the road. (very undignified!)
