his hangover has reached crisis point when I have just got DD1 down for a nap and DD2 is toasleep upstairs and I don't want ot wake them?

I could wake them but they won't go back down and means I won't get a break this afternoon or be able to get any cooking done for presents without 'help'

DD's are 2.10 and 1.2, they have been up since 5 and I have asked DH to get a cab home! He is happy enough with that but a bit put out...it's not too much to ask is it?

He should get a taxi IMPO

ilove · 19/12/2008 13:48

Nope. Self inflicted illness gets no help/sympathy here

whonickedmynickname · 19/12/2008 13:48

no - you are not his personal slave you have 2 sleeping children and your own job to do.

If he was seriously ill or broke a leg - fair enough - but his illness could have been avoided yes?

Lulumama · 19/12/2008 13:49

YANBU, he can get bus/cab or walk

ChirpyGrinch · 19/12/2008 13:56

Thanks, he has accepted it but I have lingering guilt, especially as I know he hates public transport adn cabs, and he is really suffering so wont want to make conversation.

(note, I don't feel bad enough to go and get him!)

(also note, I am not cooking yet....! damn MN!)

This is self inflicted so would get no sympathy from me. He can either get a cab or the bus or he will have to wait until little one's have woken up. YANBU.

ChirpyGrinch · 19/12/2008 14:02

Glad you all agree!

Can you send me lots of 'sleepy' vibes to make sure DD's dont wake up before he gets back

moondog · 19/12/2008 14:03

It would be very selfish of him to expect you to go.
Hangovers get zero sympathy in this house.

Notreallycutoutforthis · 19/12/2008 14:05

Hangovers always get sympathy in this house but sleeping children have priority! YANBU

ChirpyGrinch · 19/12/2008 14:05

I did give him a lift in but DD's went into office to wreak havoc say hi to everyone, and they were not asleep.
he should have the car today but is still far too drunk to drive, but he was supposed to be in until 6 or 7, he has caved after less than 2 hours at work!

It's his own fault. Bugger him. Hangovers get lots of door slamming, tv turned up and the kids unleashed at 6am to bounce. [evil]

ChirpyGrinch · 19/12/2008 14:07

I did train DD1 to ask 'How's your HANGOVER' ina shouty voice, I explained that his ears aren't working properly so she has to yell.

worked a treat [also evil, but highly amusing]

ChirpyGrinch · 19/12/2008 15:03

Well bugger me!
DD2 just woke up, and started yelling so loudly she woke up DD1, so I called DH to find otu where he was, and he is round the corner, having walked 2 miles uphill to get home as there are no cabs.

Hangover
I think he owes me a Chinese tonight!

TotalChaos · 19/12/2008 15:06

I'm sure the fresh air will have done wonders for his hangover

ChirpyGrinch · 19/12/2008 15:09

It appears so, he is playing on the floor with dd2, miracle cure
