To expect my ds's first nativity play to be a positive/happy experience?

Got to my son's nativity slightly late (as ever) but just before curtain up. My husband and I sat in our pre-booked seats and the bloody irritating alpha mummy behind us shouts 'oh for goodness sake I cant see now' then spent the entire performance loudly sighing, tutting and asking her husband to take photos for her as she 'couldnt see anything'. I felt awful and I know its the season of goodwill but really wanted to punch her!

Silly woman! How unpleasant. What did she expect?

Went to DD's play today. There were whingeing babies and toddlers which is to be expected and can't really be helped. But there were also 3 mums who sat in a row and talked and laughed all the way through. The grandmother in front of me kept shooting them evil looks. It got to the point that every time they opened their mouths the whole room took a collective irritated breath.

ggirlsbells, I quite agree. But that school is quite inconsiderate on many levels.
