DTD brings a letter home from school today saying that next terms PE will be held by "sports coaches" at the local leisure centre...tis free (great!) BUT...

between now and 5 Jan I have to deal with Christmas and Christmas shoppers or sale shoppers AND buy the following items...

Black/navy shorts
tracksuit bottoms (I have NEVER found a pair of tracksuit bottoms to fit as they need age 4-5 waist and 7-8 legs)
fleece/seatshirt (I think I can probably get away with a hoody)
non marking soled trainers (I have to check their trainers...they may be OK).

ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH this is my worst nightmare...tis the tracksuit bottoms that is my worst nitghtmare - they don't own any for a good reason - they do not fit!

And before I get jumped on - I will kit them out. I just want to scream at the prospect of a) finding the cash to do it and b) trapsing the shops to do it at this time of the year

Sainsbury tracky bottoms are good for 4-5 wasit and 8-9 legs

my son is just like yours skinny round the waist and tall. Matalan clothing especially school trousers fit him great. I have tried adams, mc & s and they are alays too big but adams jogging bottoms are ok, adams you can also order on line and its free delivery over £35 i think.

DoNotsAntlers · 12/12/2008 21:50

I have always found adams stuff for short and fat personally - although that was when they were toddlers.

My sainsbury's don't do clothes - but I will try Matalan - although TBH their school trousers fall down on 1 of my DTDs (the skinnier one)

try primark. I found their jeans to be ok as well. I really struggle to buy trousers for my son, jjb's patrick range also tend to be for skinny kids as well. they do shorts and tracksuit bottoms, it all depends on how much you want to spend. adidas tend to be too big around waist

DoNotsAntlers · 12/12/2008 22:03

I know where I can get jeans from (Gap, H&M and Zara being the preferences - and only because of hte adjustable waist). I still haven't found anywhere or tracksuit bottoms. you can't seem to get them with a drawstring these days which is what I ideally need.

ds has some for school from sainsbury, without going up and checking I am pretty sure they have a drawstring.

DoNotsAntlers · 12/12/2008 22:09

TY - that is helpful CS...maybe I need to find a bigger Sainsbury's store.

I shall go and look

Ivykaty44 · 12/12/2008 22:42

sorry they must be at school

GrimmaTheNome · 12/12/2008 22:46

I've only ever had to do this once on a skirt of DDs - I cut a little slit on the inside of the waistband, pulled through a loop of the elastic and sewed it up - quite easy to tighten an elasticated waist that way.

DoNotsAntlers · 12/12/2008 22:48

Thanks for trying Ivy

Grimma...I do that on all their school skirts 9trust me I have tried every trick in hte book...I am skilled at adjusting clothes ). Problem is that with the tracksuits I have looked at the elastic is sewn into the channel all the way round so it can't be pulled up.
