I was thinking the same actually korma, since when was MN non-judgemental...
PLUS I'm not even judging. I KNOW the situation, I KNOW none of them work and that they have no issues atm and that they didn't go to the children's nativity play.
It's all facts.

I think what it is for alot of people is a difficulty in accepting that some parents are neglectful, even cruel. People want to find justifications rather than accept that. Which is understandable in some ways. I kind of wish that in my job I hadn't seen so many parents like that, and what they've done to their kids. I have no difficulty in accepting that there are some parents who can't be arsed to go to their kids nativity, unfortunately.

I think the 'you must not judge' mantra is ALWAYS worth challenging. We must judge if we are to agree on a basic modus operandi for society!

..but what a horrible feeling if you're wrongly judged..

LilMatchGirlInVictorianSqualor · 12/12/2008 08:43

But they aren't being wrongly judged!

There is one mum at ds's school that can and does go to everything because she doesn't work. And that's lovely for her, but the sad reality for me is that I will miss 50% of stuff because of work and dh will miss the other 50%. So far one of us has made it to most things and I think that's pretty good especially as some of it was at short notice. Ds doesn't mind as long as someone is there.

But whenever she asks if I'll be at x,y or z and I say no she does do the cat bum face.

Tiredsville, Its impossible to go through life not judging, impossible.
Even if its only "That skirt is a bit tight on that woman". we judge every day.
Im judging Kate Garraway on GMTV as I type this. Its human nature.

FleurLeChaunte · 12/12/2008 08:59

I would think this too and I don't care if it is my business or not .

It's not like you need much motivation to stay at school for an hour once you've dropped the kids off really, at least not as much as it might take people who haven't worked for years to get a job.
