As it appears I'm the only person who's done anything to help with the nursery christmas party

I'm fuming having gone in today and been asked to provide a whole long list of food tomorrow.

All but one raffle prize are things I've donated or arranged for local businesses to donate.

They have half of my xmas decorations on loan, and I put them up for them too.

I hired the santa outfit.

I've sorted the music.

No other fecker has done anything.

I'm busy as hell anyway helping a friend with catering for a do tonight, but I can't say no to people.

rant. Grumble.

I know how you feel. People keep asking my why I bother when no one else does...

rubyslippersisappearinginpanto · 11/12/2008 10:02

you should assign tasks to other people

so, tell Mrs X, "i have organised the decorations, I am sure you don't mind putting them up"

etc

or practise saying, "No"

I would stick the list up on the nursery door and ask people to put their name next to something.

Thats what they do at ds's nursery

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 11/12/2008 10:09

They tried that, it was up for a fortnight and no one signed up.

One other mum is doing the majority of the food.

Thats out of order, its for their bloody kids as well!

I think the nursery should be having a word with the parents and telling them they HAVE to sign up for something.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 11/12/2008 10:15

It's too late now.

rouble is a lot of the parents just drop and run, either to work or home, they don't get at all involved with anything.

YANBU, a one woman Christmas party is certainly unfair!!

Have turned up at the pre-school this morning with donations for the Christmas Hamper (for which I have to sell raffle tickets too), to be told Father Christmas is also coming in today and can I bring some money in this avo towards the presents they've already bought... (no chance to buy something small for son to be given then, apparently a tenner will do )...

Feeling slightly better having just spoken to my friend who's just returned from her school run having been hunted down by PTA with clipboards in the playground, seems it only get scarier!

Oh well, as you say not much you can do this year, consider it your good deed i suppose!

But next year, i would definately ask the nursery to organise it a bit better, send a list home etc.
