Or is it to be taken 'with a pinch of salt' as some would say.........?

Ivykaty44 · 06/12/2008 16:27

a bucket full I would imagine.........

prettybutterfly · 06/12/2008 16:28

Respondants to threads often can't agree with each other, so I don't think it's unreasonable for an OP to be in some doubt.

It would be nice to get an update sometimes, wouldn't it?

cheeseandsproutssarnie · 06/12/2008 16:29

i have posted aibu threads before because i really didnt know.after i found the general view i either sulked or cheereed depending on result.

MrsSeanBean · 06/12/2008 16:30

Yep. There should be a deadline after which the OP should set out their conclusions.

Cheeseand sprout sarnie (yummy btw) - don't you often find though that these threads go in waves, with posters largely repeating what the previous poster said... then there somes along someone who dares to have a different opinion, they get a bit of flak, but then others creep out of the woodwork to support the opposing view... Or is that just cynical old moi?

most people post AIBU in the 100% belief that they are NOT and fully expecting total agreement with their pov. They can't believe it when they are told they abu, because they weren't actually wanting your opinions, they were wanting you to back up their opinion and provide them with, what's the word? It's an American type concept? validation???

BettyMoody · 06/12/2008 16:46

AIBU is, on the whole, full of wankers.

prettybutterfly · 06/12/2008 16:52

Welcome, fellow wanker!

MrsSeanBean · 06/12/2008 16:53

That reminds me, I almost typed [fwank] the other day

Idrankthechristmasspirits · 06/12/2008 18:29

MrsSB - I knew this was you!

moondog · 06/12/2008 18:31

Exactly Hecate.
Which is why i always appear to tell them that yes, they are being completely bloody U.

MrsSeanBean · 06/12/2008 18:32

Hi spirits

Have clearly had too much time on my hands today!

OP posts:
Idrankthechristmasspirits · 06/12/2008 18:35

Me too. I am working on this though. I have told the kids and dp that i am working. I can get away with this because i am typing every now and then, the key is to make sure that i hit the keyboard really hard so that they can hear me typing.
Random sighing helps as well.

This may sound cruel but it ensures that
a. i can slob out with no interuptions.
b. Dinner is cooked for me.

Idrankthechristmasspirits · 06/12/2008 18:36

c. I can look up the correct spelling of interruptions.

MrsSeanBean · 06/12/2008 18:39

I like your plan spirits

Some of my keys are getting a bit wobbly actually due to very fierce typing - I don't know how much MNing my PC will be able to take!

What you do, is you buy a second hand crappy keyboard. Keep it in your desk drawer and bring it out for occasions such as this. That way, your usual keyboard stays functional.
