Today, one of my colleagues went off to collect our department's invites to the Xmas party. By mistake, he brought back one too few so didn't give one to one of my colleagues (so instead, she/he could ask for one to be sent in internal mail). She then told him to f* off, and had threw a hissie fit worthy of a 3 yo. We were all a bit ... surely a "woman" of 29 should be able to accept disappointment with a slightly higher level of decorum than this? It's not like she's not going to be able to go.

I would like to say I'm surprised, but this week I seem to be surrounded by grown women throwing ridiculous diva-strops. There's something in the water...

well, she was definitely out of order..but it's pretty harsh to blame it on her being an only child (I am one).

I'm an only child. I definitely have a tendency for hissy fits, but so does every woman I know, and I'm pretty sure they're not all only children.

Actually I am an only child and don't have hissy fits (except to DH) ..mainly because I work as a receptionist and have been on the receiving end a few times!

No she isn't (regularly left out or red haired). Later on, the same guy asked her for some information to complete stats for a management report (that she used to prepare), but she said "no. I can't be arsed" and then started off on another hissy fit. Is this PMT? Or insanity?

whilst I'm not excusing her hissy fit if this bloke forgot to get an invite why did he not send for a spare himself? She might have over reacted but I can sort of see why you might feel a bit left out over it.
