- To want to laminate the cats?

I have two cats, one black, and one black with white shirtfront and paws - and for two fairly small cats, they don't half shed a lot of fur!!

I've just swept the front room, and have got enough fluffy cat fur to knit myself a new kitten, and our lovely cotton duvet covers are always furry and grey rather than sage green or cream - and not because I don't wash them often enough either!!

So, would it be unreasonable of me to laminate the cats - or varnish them perhaps - so that their fur stays on them???

On second thoughts, just encase each cat in a bodysuit and it'll keep the hair in.

It would have to be clawproof though. And the cat would probably go psychotic through not being able to wash... but then a lot of cats are psycho anyway (i have a shorthaired dachshund so do not have these problems now , but remember what my gingerpuss used to do to my school uniform)

I should have added, that the advantage of using excess cat hair as loft insulation is that it keeps the mice away

You will just have to change to all grey furnishings. It's the only solution.

We have a lovely fluffy tabby and it's unbelievable the amount of fur that comes of when she's brushed. I once had the brilliant idea of stuffing my earmuffs with some of it for extra warmth and cosiness. Would NOT recommend this as the hairs worked themselves out in surprisingly prickly fashion for the next week, until I couldn't bear it any longer and spent ages trying to de-fur them again.

My entire day is not going to be wasted looking at the lolcat thingy. Thanks.

I have cat envy - currently living in a cream rented flat - no pets allowed (plus how would the cat get out?).

Stick 'em in the tumble drier for 15mins every morning, that gets all the loose fur off.

We haven't had a pet for almost three years now yet their fur is still making an appearance, esp on hard floors.

Apparently these are amazing:

Turn your heating right down then they won't be too hot and will stop malting!

Sunnygirl, if you are considering knitting a new kitten with your cat hair, you might want to draw inspiration from the efforts of these creative and talented people. As I have no pets, I am considering collecting together all the beardy bits from the sink which my DP doesn't see fit to rinse away when he shaves, and knitting him a scratchy scarf, so he can truly understand the abrasion my face endures when he snuggles up to me.

When you,ve finished with your special pet laminator, please can i borrow it so that I can do our two labradors? oh and I'd quite like a swimming pool style footbath installed at all entry points as well. (Do swimming pools have these foot baths any more?)
