Maybe only pC knows what it is? I haven't a clue, and my first impulse was to say, "Well, don't buy it then. " However, I see that the website refers to special needs, so maybe this "small" thing is actually Very Important to your child? In which case, £58 doesn't seem like all that much.

So yes, Y appear to BU. But I suspect there will be extenuating circumstances.

tbh it is the sodding vat that annoys me and the fact that the moment you put SN it to it it becomes dearer.
dd needs it as it will help her to learn. but I do object to the ammount this stuff costs.

can her school buy it for you, they may be able to avoid the VAT?

2AdventSevenfoldShoes · 30/11/2008 19:29

no unfortunately
she is VAT exxempt. but last time i queired the vat, I was told by the company that the tax people said they had to charge vat, as non disabled people could use the software. that was when I was bying a cd full of symbols!!

You shouldn't need to pay the VAT as its for your dd - you should be able to fill out a VAT exemption form.

Hmmm...it is from a company called Inclusive Technology - the Special Needs People; that would suggest that the products they sell are for people with SN - I don't think I was worng to suugest it!

Certainly worth a punt anyway 2shoes; I've yet to pay VAT for anything for my dd bought from such companies.

2AdventSevenfoldShoes · 01/12/2008 22:09

I had to pay the vat. it had gone down by a couple of £ due to the budget. but still about £54.
dd has to use head switches. she can't use a mouse. so we get hit every way.

Oh its crap 2shoes, it really is. I hate that anything related to SN costs a factor of x over the mainstream equivalent. As if life wasn't hard enough.....
