Just come back to find I have started a mini epidemic of drunken behaviour on MN tonight, wahey!

Whoops have just slugged another glass of vino tinto at a friend's and now I have the playgroup posee coming round for a meeting at eight. Will definitely be needing another bottle (or two) for that.

PMSL at Blondes' "remember somewhere in the world it is 6 o clock"

yes, that flexible yardarm is a boon, isn't it?

wonderwoman73 · 26/11/2008 19:22

What a good idea , a glass of red will make the ironing far more fun... must just make sure I don't iron myself by mistake...

eekamoose · 26/11/2008 19:22

I am on a six week break from alcohol. Day 26 today. Is your wine lovely? Are you all enjoying yourselves.

I have a stinking cold and a lovely big glass of red would really help clear the old airways I'm sure.

Tut.

I'm much better at stories with a glass inside me - suddenly I can actually give a flying one about the adventures of Noddy...

Notreallycutoutforthis · 26/11/2008 19:25

Why 6 weeks eekamoose? Are you trying to turn yourself into a really cheap date for Christmas?

travellingwilbury · 26/11/2008 19:26

eekamoose my wine is lovely thanks for asking

Just think how much nicer yours will taste after your break

I should go and eat some food though , a glass of wine or two is ok a stinking hangover in the mornig is not quite as good

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 26/11/2008 20:15

Yay finally sat down with a glass of cold white wine

And no work tomorrow so may indulge in 2. Or 3..4

eekamoose · 26/11/2008 20:17

6 weeks: well, I'd given up smoking and when I got to six weeks I felt pretty comfortable and over the cravings and fairly certain I wouldn't be tempted again.

But I had gained some weight. So I thought I'd stop drinking altogether (I seem to find it difficult to cut down) in order to lose those few pounds and to nip any weight gain in the bud.

So I stopped drinking for 6 weeks, 6 weeks after I'd stopped smoking.

I can drink again on December 11th .

Feeling pretty bloody smug with myself, I can tell youse.

Turniphead1 · 26/11/2008 20:22

Sun well past the yard arm! Have one (or three) for me and enjoy!

Notreallycutoutforthis · 26/11/2008 20:23

So what method did you go with on the stopping smoking?

Notreallycutoutforthis · 26/11/2008 20:23

Well my sister came round unexpectedly at the kids' tea time so we opened a bottle of wine (she lives 300 miles away so it was a surprise!).

Having an extra glass now! Yum yum.

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 26/11/2008 23:01

But I have an excuse as because of my shifts this is really equivant of my fri night

at Eekamoose. I feel shite this morning.

I carried on until 11 last night and now feel dry mouthed, achey and a bit nauseous.

Still, thanks all for joining me last night in a tipple
