I was at the checkout in tesco this morning. There was one women in front of me who had unloaded all her stuff onto the conveyor belt.

I put the divide thingy down and began unloading my shopping too. I had almost done when the women in front of me called to another women who was just about to join a queue a couple of checkouts away.

This women then approached the checkout I was at. She walked past me and the first women put another diveder down infront of my shopping and jestured to her friend to put her shopping there which she did, It was only about 5 items but I was so anoyed that this women had basically pushed in.

I said "thats pushing in you know"
1st Women "she is with me"
Me "but she is paying seperately so she is still pushing in"
1st women "Do I look like I give a shit?"
Me "No, clearly you don't"

She then muttered something else to her friend and smerked, the cashier just sat there in silence and served the other women anyway.

I was going to move but then I thought why should I, I haven't done anything wrong!

arsewipes!

wotulookinat · 24/11/2008 19:20

That is a really frustrating situation, but there is nothing you could have done. What a shame the cashier didn't do anything.

cheshirekitty · 24/11/2008 19:21

YANBU. There is a special kind of hell for ignorant cows like this.

Hopefully, her car will have broken down on the way home, and all her frozen goods will have defrosed.

hippipotami · 24/11/2008 19:23

Argh, that would have made me
But I am surprised the cashier did not say something.

You done the right thing.

Short of knocking her f*cking head off, there isn't much else you could have done.

They are dipshits...ignorant ones at that!

Lubyloo · 24/11/2008 19:24

YANBU. What an awful woman. I can't believe the cashier didn't say anything and just served her!

crazycanuck · 24/11/2008 19:24

yes, I would have done the same as ThePregnantHedgeWitch. I have had to do that quite a few times at work to queue jumpers. it's people like this that make me want to go live in a log cabin in the woods far away from the rest of humanity! you a definitely NBU, my blood would be boiling!!!

staryeyed · 24/11/2008 19:26

Well I was in the bank with my dad who walks with a walking stick. We walked down the queue bit and this man ran down the side and jumped in front said looked over and said "its ok I'll just be a minute" and proceeded to spend 10mins with the cashier sorting various bits and pieces. Height of rudeness IMHO.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 24/11/2008 19:27

No YANBU at all. Do you believe in Karma??

wotulookinat · 24/11/2008 19:27

It's even worse than when you are obviously approaching a checkout and someone runs to get in front of you.

chequersandchess · 24/11/2008 19:30

No YANBU.

I'll tell you something weird that happened to me today though. I went into the bank with DD in her pram. There was a massive queue - the woman in front of me said "oh, you should just go straight to the front of the queue as you have a baby, push in front of everybody".

She was dead serious

I didn't try it, I value my teeth

RustyBear · 24/11/2008 19:34

Actually I'm not sure I blame the cashier for not refusing to serve someone who has already said "Do I look as if I give a shit?"

Possibly she values her teeth too...

panni · 24/11/2008 19:37

I was so cross I could feel the colour rising in my face. I wanted to say a lot more but I think if I hadn't bit my tongue when I did i'd have said something i would have regretted later.

I did look at the cashier for some kind f support but she just looked all pathetic like she was scared!

The ridulous thing is that if I have a big shop, as I did today, and someone comes up behind me who only has a couple of items I would usually let them in front anyway.

And I do believe in Karma!

I'd have asked the cashier to summon the manager while rude cow no.1 was still carrying out her transaction. Hopefully s/he would then have arrived in time to boot out rude cow no2.
