Sweets at checkout...

...so AIBU in being pissed off at the mammoth display of sweets by the checkouts in Mothercare at Bluewater? Fortunately Ds wasn't with me, or the whole shop would have been treated to a toddler meltdown, but given this is a shop dedicated to serving children and parents, should we accept this cynical offering to 'pester power'?

Am interested in what you think before I take this any further.

It's an ideal opportunity to assert your parental authority and say NO

They do this in M&S and ASDA too

I just go with the tantrum, if one ensues

The supermarkets usually have some sweet free checkouts (our asda does for sure) but M&S is bad (cos the sweets look good!).

Mothercare shouldn't be selling sweets at all IMO.

Sweets at check out are a nightmare - I hate all shops that do it, even if I dont have DC's with me I still buy them - but then I am a pushover.

ah but they arent real sweets, they are like shop mannequins kept at the front of the shop so you know whats at the back of the shop
