to never invite ds's friends over?

ds is 4 and has had friends round about 4 times. I only have one room (apart from bedrooms and bathroom) and all his friends have big houses with gardens so it always seems easier for ds to go to theirs. Do you think all the mums are wondering why their children never get invited over? Am I being rude?

Errm yes. I am one of those with the big house and garden and sometimes I am hacked off to fury that I always end up entertaining, ferrying and feeding endless children. However, I'd never actually say anthing or do anything about it, so it's my own fault IYSWIM.

i'd invite them round anyway.

Yes, it is a little rude not to reciprocate. DSs have just as much fun at the friends house which is a small terrace on a main road as they do when friends come to my house with its huge garden and 14' trampoline.

ok. Will do. What fun.

Oh, I loathe the whole Friends for Tea routine. I force myself to get on with it though

my ds likes to go to other peoples houses, but also enjoys having friends over to play in his home..it's about the experience for them .

it could look rude to some people, definitely.

It's not that I think the kids wont have fun, I know they will, it's just that I have to share the space they are having fun in and I can't get on with anything. When ds goes round to a friends house they can play upstairs, or in the next room or at the other end of a bigger room.

I will invite a few more round though, we had one boy round yesterday and it wasn't too bad!

We've invited a boy round for tea next week. I think I knew I was being rude, I just really don't have room for two children and an adult (and a dog who will be locked in her cage and complaining about it) but we'll manage to squeeze in somehow.
