To expect DH to clear up more thoroughly when DD1 pukes

DD1 (2.5) seems a bit prone to sickness bugs. Whenever DH clears up the vomit, he leaves her in sicky pyjamas, with sick in her hair...When she makes it to the loo, he never cleans up with disinfectant or bleach, and leaves splashes of sick on the floor/in the toilet bowl. He doesn't wash his own hands after dealing with the sick.

Not only do I find this level of cleaning unacceptable for DD1 - it can't be nice to be smelling your sick after you've puked - it makes me cross because we have a 6.5mth old DD2. I do not want her, if at all possible, to get the sickness bug, as I understand such bugs can get quite serious quite quickly for small babies (especially FF ones like DD2).

When I clean up I make sure DD1 is free of all traces of puke with washing and a change of clothes (I wouldn't do a full hairwash when she is ill). I then remove all traces of puke from the loo, and put bleach down it. I wash my own hands thoroughly.

I don't think my hygiene standards are obsessive, and I am not generally known for keeping a spotless house, but am I being unreasonable to expect more of DH?

My dh has far lower hygiene standards than I do, but he would still clean up all traces of sick. YANBU.

He is def out of order to not wash or change DD.
If its in the night I would over look forgetting bits on the floor or toilet (dark and tired etc) but he should make sure DD is comfortable!!!

Yep - in the night fair enough 2point4, but we are talking about the daytime (well 6.30am this morning - she usually wakes at 6.45 anyway).

If any of ours our sick they go straight in the bath. One of us will wash the child, the other will clean up any mess and get the washing machine on.

My husband wouldn't think to bleach the toilet I don't think, but I'd do it. I'm fairly sure he'd clean up well enough, but maybe not use as many cleaning products as I would.

YANBU. And if your DH is not cleaning up properly, especially in regards to washing his own hands, it might explain why your DD is so prone to tummy bugs.
