To turn a blind eye to DH giving the DDs ice cream and digestives for breakfast?

Its not exactly the breakfast of champions, but on the other hand I'd gone up for a "quick" bath and stayed in for an hour. (well it sounded like they were all happy downstairs - no surprise considering.)

DH said not a word about the long bath.

DDs are 2 and 11m by the way!

That's what Dads are for to bend the rules here and there!

I am thankful my Dad would occasionally allow us a a cake, or chips for tea, or not tell on us if we'd broken something (minor, like a cheap glass), or once in a while slip me £10 when I was a teenager, because my mum although doing her best, could be a total ogre always flipping her lid about the most minor things that other mums would have laughed about. I seriously think I would have gone crackers without my dad to balance all the rules and regulations so am all in favour of ice cream and biscuits for breakfast when Mum's in the bath, once in a while!!

That sounds like a pretty cool breakfast, and they were having fun, thats how memories are made.

I'd be fine with it once in a while and would only say something if it was a regular occurance.

Well I ignored it but you know how these things escalate.. Next thing I knew it was a bag of jelly sweets dug up from god knows where, followed 1hr on the dot by a sugar comedown tantrum!

Still I loved my long bath.

Best bit was the very serious lecture from DH to DD1 about how sugar makes you feel good at the time, but then bad later...

Errm, you GAVE the sugar to the 2yr old, you enabler!

You will all be glad to know I said nothing, and let him deal with the sugar rage, safe in the knowledge that he got his comeupance!
