I dont have an issue with providing a fee or a small gift for fundraising - mufti day etc but am having a big problem with having to purchase my own childrens artwork etc at a xmas fayre, usually 3 things costs nearly around 10 pound each child, so 20 pounds for me. wouldnt mind but we do loads of fundraising for other school things in the year as well.

Don't buy them, and do some crafty stuff at home with them instead.

Tis outrageous. People should have a choice about whether to donate to charity at all and then a choice about which one without being dictated to. I would be too

Oh, I thought it said "burying", I was going to say what a good idea that was!

Have made a stand on this constant overpriced fundraising, fine a few times a year but this is the biscuit, have donated all recent asked for gifts not to school but to a childrens charity and told all that it is based on priority of need.

The thing is, the fundraising for the school HELPS the school - it is not just gratuitous! The schools are not funded as they should be, so most schools rely on fundraising.

Unless its a private school - if so, rant away!!!

We felt obliged to buy one of these from our dds school a few years ago. She's really good at art but the picture the teacher had chosen to be framed was just awful.

We bought it of course as she was with us when we viewed it and she would have been very upset but it's now consigned to a cupboard. It cost £18!!! (No not a private school!)

Yes but there comes a time when raising funds for school equipment has to come below the need for raising funds for children who are ill and starving etc
