Hi, I agree with slatybartfast I'm new to MN so make mistakes and it's not nice hearing you other more experienced Mnetters moaning about it - if people are knew then why shouldn't they start new threads. I really loved Mn at first but it seems like everything I go on there is a few people that just take over with their opinions of if you should even me allowed to put anything on here - this is a public forum is it not - god it's like pre-menstrual mad woman sometimes out to scratch your eye's out, can't everyone just chill??

thumbwitch · 13/11/2008 23:44

lol at gillyan - PMT rools here!

cali · 13/11/2008 23:48

you also get to know very quickly which posters will never consider anybody else's view point and think that their way is the only way.

I used to like the debates that went on, but we don't seem to have had a decent one for ages.

thumbwitch · 13/11/2008 23:52

oh I don't know, cali - there was a recent quite civilised debate thread about single vaccines vs MMR - that is, most people on it were quite civilised...

cali · 13/11/2008 23:59

wished I had seen that one.

Whenever I have a day off and go on mumsnet, it just seems to have gone a bit, well, weird at the minute. Don't know why it has changed but it doesn't "feel"like it used to, if that makes sense?

HRHSaintMamazon · 14/11/2008 00:00

im trying to avoid them too, for obvious reason's.

thumbwitch · 14/11/2008 00:04

I think it is partly because several "old timers" have left and partly because of midsummer troll madness - certainly it hasn't been the same since the EthanChristopher shakedown and the fallout from that. I know I haven't been here that long but I was tempted to leave at that point too - no willpower though!

link to that thread on vaccines if you're interested...

cali · 14/11/2008 00:10

I posted on quite a few of EC's threads and normally I can spot a troll but this time I was taken in completely.

MN can be great though, recently found a horrible thing in my utility room and thanks to MN, was told what it was. I don't do bugs very well and was glad of the help that night.
example

thumbwitch · 14/11/2008 00:16
  • god, I loathe beetles etc.
cali · 14/11/2008 00:20

thanks for link to vaccination thread, was away at the weekend so missed it.

have added it to watched threads as need to go to bed but dd1 has started the whole cough/cry/cough/retch routine so know I will be wasting my time going to bed until she settles.

Tortington · 14/11/2008 00:21
cali · 14/11/2008 00:27

custardo, if you are referring to me, I didn't say I was going to post on it as I know there have been several threads in the past about vaccinations. But they have always ended up in very heated and not always pleasant debates, and if as thumbwitch states that this was a reasoned debate, then I would be interested in reading it.

Tortington · 14/11/2008 00:52

no darling, i was refering to the thread in general

cali · 14/11/2008 01:02

never a good idea to drink too much wine and then try and make sense of mumsnet,

Hmm, a thread complaining about repetitive threads, which then infers to other threads, just a little bit repetitive itself!!

I blame dd1, she's still awake and I need to get her to go to sleep!

2shoes · 14/11/2008 08:33

well I don't care we were having fun imo up untill 23.14
mn needs to lol some times

cali · 14/11/2008 09:19

I agree too, just hope any cm's reading don't mind that I got them confused with something that has nothing to do with childcare

SlartyBartFast · 14/11/2008 22:07

hic, thanks for the baileys and roll up.

2shoes · 14/11/2008 23:18
