dh bought an audi a few weeks ago and he got given a bottle of wine and a free session at venture including one free 7x5 photo.

Normally wouldnt entertain venture but thought as it was free, we'd go, have the free pic and thats it.

However when the woman phoned today she said she needed a card number to hold the booking, I lies and said dh had the cards on him. She assured me it was only in case we didnt turn up for session.

So now I just wanna say 'stuff it up your arse' but I want the free photo so should I just ask her why she needs a card to book when its free??

I would let Audi know too as they are associating themselves with Venture.

Fair enough. The price just stunned me. I though school photos were expensive!

Doubletake are better but they too take your card details and charge you if you don't come in.

We had a session bought for us by SIL. The session was great the pics were lovely. The hard sell pissed me off. Managed to escape with free photo as we were skint and told them there was no point in going for credit option as our credit history is shit! The free photo wasn't the best but was the only one they had in the selection that included all 4 of us! I know they took lots more but only chose the ones they thought were the best to show us. I would of loved to of seen some of the images they rejected as I think they would of looked OK for what we wanted which was a nice pic of us as a family!

We got 2 8x10s (upgraded from the 7x5) and once they arrived immediately bought two lovely light wooden frames (with mounts, which is one thing the cheapo black Venture frames don't have) for about £12 each and put our piccies in them. I know we've invalidated the 'warranty', but ffs, what on earth will happen to the photos when they're just hanging on the wall?

Luckily we went with my MIL and they could tell she was the one with the £ so they didn't bother pressurising us. The photos were gorgeous though, and could've easily spent thousands if we'd had it!

Today we had some photos taken at DD2's toddler group. There were laods of cancellations so we must have been in there 20 minutes, he took loads, we had DD3 lying in a basket, took some of the 3 of them and some individual I think we will get some good ones.

A good package of lots of pictures costs about £25 and you have the option of ordering as many additional prints as you want including A3 size for £35, use your own frame and thats a bargain.

The thing is you get the proofs you chose what you want if nay no hard sell.

Also even if you are not a memebr of the group you can go along, stuff venture ask about who is having a photographer in soon.

A friend of mine who is an excellent photographer got offered a 'job' at Venture... I say job as the T&Cs made it sound more like a prison sentence!! She has continued to freelance, alot of the time with families who have had the Venture experience and don't wish to repeat it!! We have the most adorable photo in the world of our son from her. Worth every penny (which at least all went to her.....)
