So apparantly, a kid who calls other kids "fat", "queer", "faggit", "gayboy", "tramp" etc and throws things at them, kicks them, trips them up, pushes them against walls etc is NOT a bully, he just a kid who 'can handle himself'.

seriously?

WorzselMummage · 13/11/2008 11:47

Do it, video it and put it on YouTube !

Pretty horrific comments from her for sure, she deserves it..

jesusofutopia · 13/11/2008 11:48

that's what she told me. She said "I'm not trying to paint him as an angel because he isn't, but he's NOT a bully. If someone pushes him, he WILL push back without a second thought, he can certainly handle himself, but he's not a bully".

Yet two other boys wants to change school because of him.

She certainly has a totally different picture of this child to the one you're getting. Any reason why do you suppose? Are other parents complaining? What do the teachers think? (Just trying to get some perspective here!)

cupsoftea · 13/11/2008 11:52

Is she related to this child?

Bubbaluv · 13/11/2008 11:52

Can you ask her what IS a bully?

jesusofutopia · 13/11/2008 11:53

She's like this with all the bully's. When another child stabbed a kid in the hand with a compass after months of verbal bullying she said "he's not a bully, he's just immature and gets carried away".

She denies that bullies exist in her school. If you go in and say your child is being bullied she will say "what has your child done to him though?"

Sounds like the head teacher has a problem with defining boundaries for acceptable behaviour.

laweaselmys · 13/11/2008 11:57

oookay. she sounds like an utter twat. I can see why kids want to leave, because that's exactly what you need to be told, if you are being picked on it's your fault!

SexyDomesticatedDad · 13/11/2008 12:12

Send an official complaint to the governors - they have to investigate these.

glitterchick · 13/11/2008 12:12

Bloody hell. Ask to see that other kids parents. Also ask to see the schools bullying policy. I think they all have one these days.

mummyloveslucy · 13/11/2008 12:17

Is his Mum a govenor ? This is totally unacceptable. I'd wright a letter of complaint and send a copy to OFSTED.

RustyBear · 13/11/2008 12:45

I work at a junior school & have frequently heard the head giving her talk to prospective parents - when she was asked about bullying she would always say 'If a head teacher tells you there is no bullying in their school, they are either lying or dangerously ignorant about their school'

No school will be completely free from bullying, what matters is how they deal with it.

All schools should have an anti-bullying policy and parents have a right to see it - ask for it & see what she says...

amess · 13/11/2008 12:48

Welcome to school life - miserable at times.

onager · 13/11/2008 12:55

I like the original plan.

onthewarpath · 13/11/2008 13:18

How old is the child, not that it matters as it would be bullying at any age in my book, but please tell me those words where not in the mouth a "little child".

I thought nowadays most school would be quite aware of bullying and would take measures about it. In my DCs' school (primary school), next Friday is "antibullying day", where children are encourraged to talk about the issue and even "role play" some situation. They are always encouraged to go to a teacher or the head to discuss any Bullying instances.

The assurance for children that steps are taken when they have an experiance of being bullied should be the least they and their parents should be able to expect from the school.
