StealthPolarBANG · 08/11/2008 18:22

scaryfucker · 08/11/2008 18:22

is is very average

< damned with faint praise >

kid · 08/11/2008 18:25

I quite like it actually.
YANBU because you are entitled to your opinion

vjg13 · 08/11/2008 18:25

Not really the point, it will raise lots of money for an important charity.

LadyLaGore · 08/11/2008 18:27

vjg - that point was acknowledged in the 2 line op, difficult to miss it

TheCrackFox · 08/11/2008 18:29

I would gladly donate money to whatever charity requested to ensure that I never hear that pile of crap again.

AbbaFan · 08/11/2008 18:30

what TCF said, with bells on!

imnotmamagbutshelovesme · 08/11/2008 18:37

You can think what you like but I am pleased they have done it. FABULOUS cause.

vjg13 · 08/11/2008 18:41

I just meant that people buy charity singles to give to the charity not because they are the best thing that they have ever listened to.

wannaBe · 08/11/2008 18:44

song

I think it's very appropriate actually. The charity is help for heroes so what better song than "hero".

If you think about the various charity singles that have been released over the years, the majority weren't exactly catchy tunes that everyone wanted to sing - most of them are emotional songs which aren't to everyone's taste, but people buy them because it's a way to support a cause and have something to show for it.

cheshirekitty · 08/11/2008 18:44

Diana is not signing tonight in x-factor as she has laryngititis.

Cause is good, song is so so.

BouncingTurtle · 08/11/2008 18:45

What TheCrackFox said.

IMO it would never have reached no. 1 if it wasn't a)for charity and b)hyped up by that x-factor shite.

2shoes · 08/11/2008 18:47

the cause is brilliant
the song is good
the singers are..............

cheshirekitty · 08/11/2008 18:52

Sorry, thats what I meant. 2shoes summed it up beautifully.

wannaBe · 08/11/2008 18:52

tbh I wouldn't buy a single by the majority of them.

This is one thing that xfactor has done that is good, considering all the people they exploit to get to the 12 finalists I think it's about time they did something positive.

tiredsville · 08/11/2008 21:28

To be quite honest, Hero makes me wanna puke. I'm tired of all this commercial crap year after year. Liked Alexander though.

tiredsville · 08/11/2008 21:30

Of course I hope it will make loads of dosh for charity. Just wish they would come up with something a bit more origional.

southeastastra · 08/11/2008 21:31

lol can you get 'wannabe xfactors' lol what a state tv is in

angrypixie · 08/11/2008 21:47

I've always hated Mariah and she's singing....again

FfreckleFface · 08/11/2008 21:55

It doesn't matter whether it is shite or not. Any single with the X Factor names on it will do very well, and the cause is a fantastic one. It makes me sick that we need a Help for Heroes charity, but we do really, really need it, so hoorah for Simon Cowell for exploiting giving this year's contestants the chance to release a single for this amazing charity.

DiscoDizzy · 08/11/2008 21:58

I don't think you should really care who sings it, the cause is a great one and if its going to raise money for that cause then it shouldn't matter. The Sun asked Xfactor to do it because it'll sell and thats the whole point.

cheesesarnie · 08/11/2008 23:50

i dont like song but its for a good cause.

Arabica · 09/11/2008 15:15

Absolutely dreadful song, but I think it's the law that charity singles stink. Can't think of one that's even halfway tuneful. Even cover versions.

Flamesparrow · 09/11/2008 15:17

It is dull.
