Am I missing something? How can you tell if they have no public profile? Please fill me in!

now you see, if I hadn't been totally slated when asking same question once before(admittedly in slightly stronger terms) I might have been more likely to give you my opinion!!!

Cadix · 07/11/2008 00:35

See you guys are just being daft with each other and that is fine if you know what is going on.

Another poster is jumping my bones on another thread without good reason but she/he doesn't know my situ and as a new member it feels fairly aggresive. As I said, it is a good job I am fairly strong.

I am on the defensive but I shouldn't need to be.

Lovesdogsandcats · 07/11/2008 09:21

Why does anyone care?
Even if you post regularly, it is still not real life. I don't give a toss if someone is a troll or not,if the subject is interesting it is still worthwile discussing it with the people who are not trolls and it may even help people who lurk and read but never post.

Can't see the big deal about trolls at the moment!

Oh and i post fairly regularly but have never had a profile!

Lovesdogsandcats · 07/11/2008 09:24

Cadix, its a messege board, what are you on about 'its a good job I'm strong'.

Why would anyone need to be strong!!

DaphneMoon · 07/11/2008 09:50

I have no profile on because I prefer to remain anonymous. However, on MN I don't namechange. People will always know me as Daphnemoon, but I don't necessarily want anyone in RL to know I go on here. The only time I did namechange right at the beginning was because another MNetter was particularly nasty to me and I felt like I had been bullied. I was too embarrased to come on again with that name. Agree with Lovescats, sometimes even if a troll does start a thread, it can turn out to be a very interesting discussion because it goes off on a tangent and the troll probably gets bored and goes off somewhere else, leaving everyone else to have a good chat.
