Above all she loves shoes.

She needs shoes.

Surely a decent solution?

but how could you get them fitted and them still be a suprise?

how old is your dd?

JustKeepSwimming · 05/11/2008 17:41

Not U if she loves shoes, you know her size, and they are 'extra' shoes. (esp with pretty pattern/decoration, etc.)

U if school shoes/basic essential shoes.

IMO.

I'm guessing she is 3 or under?

tkband3 · 05/11/2008 17:43

Nope, not unreasonable at all. My 3 will all be getting boots for Christmas - they need them and I can't really justify getting them those and another present of a similar value as well. We'll get them near the time (although not that near probably, as I can't face the thought of shoe-shopping with 3 children amongst the Xmas hordes!) and then they'll each have something else smaller to open on Xmas Day (in fact I've already bought them each a DVD - on offer at various times in the last couple of months). That and their stockings will be their presents from me and DH. Their grandparents and aunties and uncles will spoil them as well . BTW my girls are 5 and 3 (DTs).

She's 18mths so the surprise element might not be so much of a problem

She has so many things already and is so wee that I just don't see the point in even more...

Bah humbug

Why do you need to buy her a present. She can't read the labels (I hope!) and who's counting?!

Have often not bought the dc anything from us as parents...

even more humbug! (and I don't care)

Ronaldinhio · 05/11/2008 17:58

maybe we need a humbug thread

DD2 getting boots for her 1st birthday. She'll get a biggish pressie(£30ish) & a couple of tiny things too but she doesn't 'need' anything except boots & she loves her shoes which she got a few weeks ago so she'll be delighted. Plus the shoebox will probably be her best pressie tbh.

If the shoes come in a box with lots of paper to rip off then she'll be in heaven!
