nah! Not skanky. Environmentally friendly.

When I had my first child, I changed his outfit every time he dribbled onto it! When I had ds2 I took to changing his clothes when they were so crusty I could no longer bend him!

straycat · 02/11/2008 19:28

lol hecate

needmorecoffee · 02/11/2008 19:28

if dd has non-puking and dribbling days she might be in clothes that long. 4 year olds don't smell.
Don't change her for bed either, she hates her limbs being bent for dressing and undressing.

scaredoflove · 02/11/2008 19:31

oh yes hecate!

!st child, clean pjs every night, clean clothes in the morning and after every meal

2nd child clean pj's every couple of days, one outfit a day

3rd child, clean pjs once a week, outfit every couple of days

4th child, when you realise they have worn the spiderman outfit every day and night for a week it's time to change to the superman one

FiveGoMadInDorset · 02/11/2008 19:32

We have just managed to wrestle DD out of the top she put on Friday morning, so call me skanky.

findtheriver · 02/11/2008 19:35

My eldest dd went through a phase of wearing the same pair of pyjamas night and day. She was about 3 at the time.

I'm just wondering why the OP posted about it as she recognises it's environmentally friendly and not a problem

Kelix · 02/11/2008 19:37

72 hours = 3 days (if my maths is any good)
Id say thats a bit of a long time to wear the same top but I guess if its reasonably clean then there isnt a problem. Not something I have done with my DD although she is my PFB and is only 9.5 months so I guess there is time yet lol!!

mabanana · 02/11/2008 19:39

Findtheriver, clearly she posted as a self-deprecating JOKE as it's what SHE does.
You all sound quite mad.

Hilarious

noonki · 02/11/2008 19:51

you got them straycat!

findtheriver · 02/11/2008 19:56

Yes, we can see that noonki. She leaves her kid in a tshirt for 72 hours. No problem. It's not a big deal. Why post on AIBU? It doesn't seem side splittingly funny. Is there a joke that we're missing??

scaredoflove · 02/11/2008 19:58

maybe someone else said inreal life it was skanky, maybe she thought 'oh son has had same tshirt on for 72 hours' I'll go ask mn if it is unreasonable

Does everything on here have to be topical and serious?

PootyApplewater · 02/11/2008 19:58

Why post on AIBU?
Hmm.... I suppose the OP wanted to know if others considered it to be unreasonable.
Or not.

Egg · 02/11/2008 20:01

DS1 did this fairly recently (aged approx 2.5). It was DH who put the top back on him after a bath though. DTs usually go through about 4 outfits each a day.

findtheriver · 02/11/2008 20:03

Well, it's not very logical that's for sure!! 'AIBU to think it's skanky...?' - er, if you think it's skanky then why do it?
If on the other hand, like most of us, you think, fuck it, life's too short to worry about what a 16 month old wears, then why bother posting?

mabanana · 02/11/2008 20:08

because it's a bit of lighthearted nonsense. Like most of what is posted when people are acting normally.
You do something daft/odd/that you think is a bit out of the ordinary. You think, ooh, I know I'll post about it to see what other people think. But I'll do a bit of a tease and see what people say when they think it's not me, and then quickly reveal that it is me. NO biggie. No need for all the rage and habdabs.
It is perfectly normal for people to post - a bad mother today fed her toddler a Gregg's sausage roll in his buggy! Then says 'ha ha, it was me!'
The OTT boiling mad posts make people sound insane.

scaredoflove · 02/11/2008 20:16

I think it's very unfair people have gone off on OP because of her other thread, when other thread was nothing to do with this one

straycat · 02/11/2008 20:26

take a day off some of you, there are no rules about what we can or can't post.
jeez touchy or what!

FGS, give the OP a break.

So what if she was having a bit of an emotional turmoil, she posted, she thought things through, thanks to that thread, no get off her back, will you?

Are you all sudden newbies? It is bad form to bring up threads on other threads. If you have something to say, say it ON THE THREAD IT BELONGS!

findtheriver · 02/11/2008 20:31

God all this MN etiket is sooooo complicated!!

straycat · 02/11/2008 20:34

thanks quint

QuintessentialGunpowderPlot · 02/11/2008 20:34

findtheriver, good to see you are having such fun being pedantic about what posters are allowed to post or not. What are you, the posting police?

If you dont like or get the thread, dont post. You are just being difficult.

findtheriver · 02/11/2008 20:36

You're the one mentioning 'bad form' Quint.
