AIBU to call someone a troll because of their name

I had my suspicions already due to content of their thread (and on research, some of their other threads too)

but does anyone else think it is funny that someones name would be an anagram of "a finer trol" (Yes , missing an l, poetic licence anyone)

I bet they are having a laugh as we speak

or have I watched one detective film/done one cryptic crossword too many?

If you read the other thread, it WAS obvious to me that it was a troll. Too bizarre for words. Some sneaky detective work looking at her other threads added to my certainty (like whether she has 4 or 7 kids). The anagram name was the final clincher.

I think its funny and clever and they should now own up and try again under a new name, MNers, be more vigilant!

If I am wrong, pass me a hat and I'll eat it

I think there is a fine line between shouting trip trap. You were so bloody persistent on that thread you were bordering on bullying.

OK, maybe bullying is a bit strong. You weren't like that girl in the fourth year who stole my dinner money. But you were a bit like a dog with a bone. Enough already!

ScottishMummy · 01/11/2008 22:18

dinner is served now get backtohumourous business stop fashing about trolls

needsomeonetotalkto · 01/11/2008 22:19

Agree with llare. loobey, get a hobby - no not troll investigating.

loobeylou · 01/11/2008 22:20

ta for the hat, but what is fashing?

OP posts:
TheArmadillo · 01/11/2008 22:21

yes the constant hounding.

How to ruin a thread.

All sensible and or funny replies lost amongst a symphony of 'troll', 'trip trap' etc etc.

So all threads end up being the same.

So fucking dull.

And akin to near bullying the op in some cases.

So much fun to read

DesperateHousewifeToo · 01/11/2008 22:22

I just assumed she has 4 school age children and 3 pre-schoolers who are obviously not needing HE yet.

I also agree that there is no point scraming troll unless someone is being hurt by a thread.

beanieb · 01/11/2008 22:23

Oh - I know what thread it is now! :D

ScottishMummy · 01/11/2008 22:24

Scottish colloquialism "dinnae fash" -worry nae fashing (worrying) anyhoo conserve your energies for fun not trolls

DesperateHousewifeToo · 01/11/2008 22:25

Oh, Psycho, I know.

Two people agreed with me on a thread earlier.

Was very

PsychoGuyFawkesMum · 01/11/2008 22:27

tis a strangely feeling isn;t it

beanieb · 01/11/2008 22:28

FUN! :D I've backed the wrong horse on XFactor!

scaredoflove · 01/11/2008 22:28

I hate the troll calling, it isn't a competition, stop treating as one

If you would like to be told you are clever....you are clever, now let the boards carry on

Who cares if someone is making up stories, some are brilliant, stop being so serious

juneybean · 01/11/2008 22:31

Does this mean the flower shop are run by fine trol(l)s ??!?!

DesperateHousewifeToo · 01/11/2008 22:33

It's obviously past my bedtime as it took me a while to get that one Juney

juneybean · 01/11/2008 22:36

aww heheh im just confused as to how anyone would sit and create an anagram out of a well known flower shop in order to scream troll at someone.

madness that is MN! :P

ABeeBin · 01/11/2008 22:40

Halloween names, anageam names! Let's do it. Me first!

ScottishMummy · 01/11/2008 22:40

jesus wept the trolls are more interesting than the conspiracy theorists anagram wizards

ABeeBin · 01/11/2008 22:40

anagram! DAMMIT!

Arcadie · 01/11/2008 22:44

Man but you guys are funny. Sorry Looby but having looked at "a finer trol"'s other posts I think that she's for real. But more importantly, I couldn't give a rat's backside if I'm wrong. Never have really understood why being a troll is such a bad thing. If people have so little to do in real life (and you're MUMS for goodness sake!!!!) that they want to get a kick out of pretending to be something they aren't then what's the harm? Admittedly i'm something of a MN newby so maybe I've not experienced the nastiness that a troll can come up with but seriously.... Mock the week is on a rerun on Dave. It's funny. Go watch that instead.

fanjolina · 01/11/2008 22:45
