To think that anyone who buys those "Lelli Kelly" shoes must be MAD!!

Just witnessed an advert promoting these shoes.

Dear god they must be the cheapest and nastiest looking footwear I have ever seen.

Some hideous lilac boot of some discription for between £60 and £70, honestly who would spend that amount of money to make your child look so cheap?

Awful looking things.

pag, i got some fab shoes in spain for DD , the brand is called 'Lulu', they are stunning, and not too ££££.

am very keen on lovely shoes

my business what i spend money on, and i think there are far more serious parenting 'crimes' to get hung up on than buying lelli kelly

stleger · 23/10/2008 15:59

My dd1, who is 15, would have adored them when she was 5. She looks so longing. She went with her dad to get Doodles, and came home with purple suede sandals. Her best shoes ever, apparently.

I hate the adverts more than I do the shoes themselves. The shoes are a bit gaudy but I can see why little girls would think they're fab. I've posted this before on another thread but I just have an objection to the bit in the jingle that says 'With Lelli Kelly we are so cool', it just makes me think it's encouraging bullying, ie, unless you have these shoes, you're not 'cool'.

beaniescreamyb · 23/10/2008 16:12

Oh they MING!

pagwatch · 23/10/2008 16:22

I'll have a look Lulumama. We are in Spain next week...
I love girls shoes too.
I had one pair of clarks choes each winter and one pair of clarks shoes every summer growing up.

I have issshhhooo

That is why DD has a bigger wardrobe than I do

Sycamoretree · 23/10/2008 16:39

Pag - don't say that about their boots! I've just bought some for DD. Only ever had one pair of buckle my shoes before - little red mary janes for xmas, bough it sale, thank god. Didn't realise no point keeping shoes for "best" when child is under 3.

£48 bloody squid. Did not buy online and somehow seem to have saved myself £7. here

Tell me you take it back!!!!! They are nice, aren't they?

Also, the Pom D'Api boots did not come with a tin (unlike lovely summer sandals)which helped me decide in favour of Buckle My Shoes. But they were killer biker ones. I was tempted. But, you know, would have had to plan DDD's whole outfit around them.

Also have Isshoooees.

Sycamoretree · 23/10/2008 16:40

BTW NOT THE PINK!!!!!!!

The BROWN ONES

pagwatch · 23/10/2008 16:43

Ok
I do like those.
I take it back....

ninja · 23/10/2008 16:44

I have to say DD has had 1 pair of sandles and one relatively plain pair of shoes. Both bought 1/2 price and cheaper than Clarks and the sandles bought because she had a broken bone in her foot and they were the only sandles that could adjust to fit her swolen foot (and we were going away)

You're going to hate me saying this, but they're well made. They have good non-slip soles.

But I do hate them. DD got her moneys worth out of them tho!

chipmonkey · 23/10/2008 16:45

GDG, Lelli Kelly ads are the only thing that make me feel better about not having a dd!

Sycamoretree · 23/10/2008 16:47

Ok, phew.

But I didn't realise they did the pink, and they're not have as nice I don't think. (Have I turned into Dr Seuss?!).

I have shoe/boot envy, and my DD is only 3 [saddo emoticon]

pagwatch · 23/10/2008 16:53

DD has these and wears them endlessly

thank god they are so sturdy

pagwatch · 23/10/2008 16:57

oops-These

Sycamoretree · 23/10/2008 17:02

Well Pag, you seem to have managed to find a pair at the more tasteful end of the LK spectrum .

But seriously - what do these shoes go with? Or is there a "clash and be damned" style ethos at work here?

I once bought DD this coat by plastisock. this is the sleeping bag but it looked a bit like this

Fucker doesn't go with ANYTHING [again, saddo emoticon]

Sycamoretree · 23/10/2008 17:03

Hmmm, am finding it hard to spot the difference Pagwatch!

lulumama · 23/10/2008 17:07

D had these last winter

lulumama · 23/10/2008 17:08

and she has these which a friend gave us!

Sycamoretree · 23/10/2008 17:10

Lulumama - I want to be nice, so I'm not going to comment on your hand me downs

But I like those destroy ones...

lulumama · 23/10/2008 17:11

s'alright, she had a fully fledged lelly kelly obsession before then !

Sycamoretree · 23/10/2008 17:11

Actually, in the close up, they are better.

Didn't realise they were gold, rather than just a wierd off green.

I suppose, in their defence, they might occasionally have their fru fru bits covered by trousers? [hopeful emoticon]

Sycamoretree · 23/10/2008 17:19

Pagwatch - these are the Pom D'Api biker boots.

Bit OTT for a 3 year old?
brrrm brrrm

Victim, moi?

lulumama · 23/10/2008 17:23

DD would love this, they would be fab with her skinny jeans !

Sycamoretree · 23/10/2008 17:26

YES! Grrr, now you are making me think of evil ways I can get them for her without DH noticing I have bought TWO ridiculously priced items of winter footwear.

I got DD some great skinny jeans from H&M - they are very very dark indigo. I liked them so much I bought the next size up too .

But H&M are mad - their leg length insane. DD is average 3 year old but is 1 1/2 - 2 year old in their jeans.
