Maybe I am wrong.
But maybe I am not.
It just seems that if you get to know people on MN then what would you change your name for and not tell anyone?
Like I said. Seems very 'Sneaky Sneaky' to me.

I namechanged because I had come accross like an arse too too many times!!

KnickKnack · 22/10/2008 22:13

i imagine lots of people to the drink too much/be arse/change name whilst hunover thing

mooog · 22/10/2008 22:14

Its just that I have noticed that on some threads you notice someone has somehow recognised someone else even though they have namechanged.
Now I have only been on mn for a couple of weeks but why wouldnt you want to tell some of the friends you have made on mn that you are namechanging.

KnickKnack · 22/10/2008 22:14

hun?
obviously I meant hunGover

Twelvelegs · 22/10/2008 22:14

Because it's anonymous, are people really friends here???

mooog · 22/10/2008 22:16

Oh twelvelegs. Do you only think friends are friends if they can be seen????

OP posts:
Twelvelegs · 22/10/2008 22:17

Um, yes. There are people on here whose words I respect or laugh at, situations that I relate to, empathise with and have interest in. But that's it.

umberellascankill · 22/10/2008 22:19

No great shakes, surely mooog? as long as it's not for mean-ness a la hughj, then who cares?

mooog · 22/10/2008 22:19

I find that quite sad really!

lol

Twelvelegs · 22/10/2008 22:20

Have I stumbled into an in joke?

Twelvelegs · 22/10/2008 22:20

Oh bugger.

umberellascankill · 22/10/2008 22:21

not sad

tis just the way of things. people who have struck up friendships may be in touch outside of mn, but there are lots of folk who like/want the anonymity (one of the perks of t'internet).

BoysAreLikeZombies · 22/10/2008 22:22

Acksherley now that I get the q, I will admit to being sad that a poster who I got on well with has not made themselves known to me in their new name.

zippitippitoes · 22/10/2008 22:22

i changed my name after two years without saying anything

mooog · 22/10/2008 22:23

Monkeytrousers. Is this a friend?????

OP posts:
combustiblepumpkin · 22/10/2008 22:24

People namechange to protect their privacy. Or because they're bored with their name. Or because it's Halloween soon. Or because their name is known to someone in RL who's checking their posts. They may mention it. They may not. It's their choice.

mooog · 22/10/2008 22:25

You see, that is what I meant. When someone you have got on really well with namechanges and chooses not to tell you. Surely that hurts feelings.?????

OP posts:
pointygravedogger · 22/10/2008 22:26

Is 'Sneaky Sneaky' code?

scaryfucker · 22/10/2008 22:26

its best not to have feelings on MN

save em for real life

mooog · 22/10/2008 22:27

What is RL??

zippitippitoes · 22/10/2008 22:27

well they dont know you any more so their feelings cant hurt can they

i think i am missing the point here tbh
