to think women should be able to bring their children to a baby shower?

I went to one recently where it was clear that anyone with children (toddlers) could not bring them. At least two women didn't come as a result. I thought that seemed a bit silly, but perhaps I'm not up enough on the etiquette? Any guidance from MN please?

I was over the moon that the invite to my friend's one included my 9month old. If it hadn't I wouldn't have been able to go but I would have understood and wouldn't have complained. It is going to be good fun and a chance to spoil our friend a bit before all the attention is on the baby

Baby shower

Just have a baby. It doesn't need commercialism. If people want to help/do something, they can make you dinner, not get you a farking diaper wrapper (ffs).

The kind of people who hold baby showers prefer titting about with bows on presents to children, I betcha.
