to think that 2 front tyres on our family car should not cost £550

I have just hit the front tyre and DH has popped to kwikfit and found that our other tyre is illegal . It's a Renault Espace FGS..... £550.

Have a Galaxy and these need steel re-inforced tyres so a bit special - try www.etyres they come and fit - as I recall ours cost about £100 a tyre last year when did the two fronts (that do wear out quicker) - reminds me as the back needs doing too. £550 is a complete RIP OFF. Do they have any sort of fair price policy? Find the tyre size - some sites you can even just put in your car reg and it'll tel you what tyres to use! Then try go back and claim either costs back or to give you the cost in another way - free service or something.

Was it £550 for the ONE tyre or two fronts? Not clear from OP.

Well like anything the more expensive your vehicle the more the maintentance/parts will cost you.

Ive used cheap Korean Hankook tyres on the car for years - never had a problem, yes I could buy a premium brand for FAR more but im not planning on driving down the side of a mountain in an snowstorm and I dont do 100 on the motorway so quite frankly I can find better things to spend my money on.
