with some lovely carbolic soap . She would'nt use much water then would she?

DD age 11 has just run another bath right to the top of the tub and gone through a whole bottle of expensive, parabens free, organic bubble bath in two days! While I would love for her to luxuriate in a deep warm bath every night, the gas bill is too bloody high , last one (combined gas and electric) 200 quid for just over two months!

Keep telling her to use the shower but she's in there for over half n hour and the ensuite ends up like a bloody turkish steam room.

Actually feel terrible that I have to keep shouting and screaming lecturing her about energy costs (she leaves all the lights on all over the house as well) as at her age I don't think she should worry about life's little realities!

buy her Matey and tell her she has to clean the bath afterwards, that'll prob put her off!

My dad always used to lecture me about electric bills and leaving lights on!

Hide your posh stuff and buy Tesco Value bubble bath - I bet she wouldnt want to bath in that!

Why does a 12 year old need to spend so long in the shower and bath?

When my dp used to take ages in the shower I would pull the cord that turned off the hot water!! Only did it twice but it was hilarious. Probably classed as child abuse.

These might help.

Can't make the poor dear use Matey or Tesco Value stuff , the expensive stuff is not for me anyway (I never have the time to have a bleeding bath - make do with a 2 min shower), it's for the kids!!

DD likes her comfort and likes to take a good book (has requested candles as well but had to refuse due to health & safety issues)and lie in the bath after a hard day of me waiting on her hand and foot! She also has vvv long hair so takes a long time (and half a bottle of shampoo and conditioner) in the shower when she washes it very other night or so.

Methinks I am a bit of a mug of a mum

I'm mean. I'd suggest that if she can't manage to shower a bit faster she might need to lose a few inches of hair.

when i was 15/16 my mum made me wash the bath after myself because i was in too long. Said she was sick of my long hair clogging the plug.
Now i have shorter hair and 5 minute showers.
