to have missed DS2's little brother's birthday party ...

It was last Friday. It was supposed to be in DS2's room, but it got moved to a local(ish) park.

We never got an invite, and I'm not really sure how old his little brother is (he's 6.5 now, apparently, but turning 14). Obviously I don't know his parents, nor have I ever met him ...

So AIBU?

Imaginary friend?

TotalChaos · 13/10/2008 16:59

are we talking imaginary little brothers here?

NotQuiteCockney · 13/10/2008 17:00

DS2's little brother isn't my child.

I've never met him, or his parents, either. (He hasn't got the same father or mother as DS2. Yes, it's a tiny bit .)

He lives in a local park. Sometimes he's a Roman. Or a cat. Or dead.

But right now, he's having a birthday.

Ah - will this be an imaginary little brother?

I missed (apparantly!) sending a card to DS's 'other father' a couple of years ago.

SAy it was moved from the pak back to his room and will be tomorrow, and he has asked fo cheese sandwiches for his special party tea.

NotQuiteCockney · 13/10/2008 17:00

Oh, yes, he's thoroughly imaginary.

But we can't have the party without DS2's little brother ... who isn't here - and has never been here.

DS2 and DS1 were busy running around with DS1's school friends when the party was happening.

I'm surprised they didn't have the party at DS2's little brother's house, as it's on an island in the local park.

YABU - surely it's not that difficult to keep track of all your imaginary children, where they live, when there many and various birthdays are etc etc. Let's face it you've nothing better to do ...

tarantula · 13/10/2008 17:04

I'm alwasy missing b'day parties. They just come up so quickly. Am sure dd's sister Arablle has one at least every week as she now 16 apparently. And yesterday I refused to bake 'cupcakes' for yet another birthday on the basis that we dont do 'cupcakes' in the UK.

I'm such a meany me.

NotQuiteCockney · 13/10/2008 17:06

He's not my child! He has a different father and mother than DS2's.

Oh god, at least I don't get baking orders for these parties.

I'm not very fond of DS2's little brother, to be fair - he went through a phase recently of trying to kill all women and girls. Oh, and he recently told DS2 that he is king of the family, leading to some rather thorough arguments.
