malapropism is another often abused word, often incorrectly spelt.

Is it a bandwagon thing and an attempt to make posts look more smarter.

Where are you seeing malapropism in posts? How would one be using it in posts about annoying mothers-in-law and unhelpful husbands?

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 13/10/2008 13:51

I would suggest that you post this in Pedants Corner expect that the inhabitants would eat you alive for your use of 'more smarter' and the missing question mark after the second sentence of your post.

MrsMattie · 13/10/2008 13:52

Anyone who slips 'malapropsim' into every day chat is a bit of a tosser...

QuiteQuiet · 13/10/2008 13:52

yes

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 13/10/2008 13:53

ffs 'more smarter' was meant to be a joke, to lighten what is essentially a bitchy post.

I was about to say that I'm sure 'more smarter' was a joke.

I'm shore I have no idea what malapropism means and as for 'erudite' I've never found a better make of glue for quick repairs.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 13/10/2008 13:58

more smarter was an effing joke.

I'm not sure why you think I'm referring to you anyway? Search the archives for it, there's hundreds.

Lack of a capital letter to begin the first sentence also. Poor show.
