Actually, it has eased off a bit but she
really is a crier at times.

There we go again.....

It's Friday afternoon. I feel like crying, never mind the 5 year old.

ignore it.

ImnotMamaGbutsheLovesMe · 03/10/2008 17:33

every day is the same.

they misbehave.

i tell them off and evetually shout when I have said the same thing about 5 times and they won't do it. they only do what dh says when he shouts too.

I know I need to do more with them but today i feel like crap and I am realising while I was a fab nanny, i am a rubbish mother. Not looking for anyone to say I am not. I am being factual.

Ignore it and remember to put your shoulders down and relax - ds1's after school tantrums have my shoulders up to my ears by Friday!

luckylady74 · 03/10/2008 17:36

Are they warm, fed, have a bed to go to? Will you bath them, read them a story and so on - then you are factually not rubbish.
I suggest wine tonight, a no shout resolution tomorrow morning and a once more into the breach attitude - children are bloody hard work sometimes.

ImnotMamaGbutsheLovesMe · 03/10/2008 17:42

You are a genius - thank you - I will go and bath them right now.

She is shouting for me now.

BFN and thanks

I have the best hubby.

He has come home with 2 big bags of Kettles crisps, 2 bars of Grenn and Blacks and some decongestent drink thingy for my cold. And he is taking over the kids and putting them to bed.

Is it sad that a bag of Kettles would make my Friday night complete

Portofino · 03/10/2008 18:52

Mine does this when she is particulary tired. Can't do a thing with her. She flounces on the sofa, throws her shoes on the floor, says she needs a biscuit or a tissue or something then has hysterics when I say "you know where such and such is, go and get it." I don't ignore her, but don't pander to her either. Just carry on with whatever, making the dinner, unloading dishwasher etc and chat to her regardless.

She normally calms down after a while and then we do PJs and a milk and biscuit, cuddle, but I never make a fuss of her whilst she's playing up. It does bug me when DH comes home in the middle of this sometimes and makes a big thing of it. "Oh my poor little baby, what is the matter, let daddy get you a XXX etc"

Charlee · 03/10/2008 18:54

YANBU my boys seems to cry endlessly and once i have done the checks for hunger/thirst/clean/dry/bored and all that jazz i generally ignore it for my own sanity.

ImnotMamaGbutsheLovesMe · 03/10/2008 18:57

Dh would never do that, Portofino!

When I did go up to her she was laid on her bed with a tshirt on her head. I don't think she knew what she was moaning about, never mind me.

I am so your hubby comes home with Kettle chips and choc!

Portofino · 03/10/2008 19:09

INMGBSLM - I feel like that sometimes too. That's why they invented wine, surely?

ImnotMamaGbutsheLovesMe · 03/10/2008 19:12

Can't have any wine but not fussed tbh. I've gone off drinking lately.
