to be glad that I said 'what a load of old rubbish' to the perfectly nice old lady in the butchers?

she was taken aback

but the butcher winked at me when I paid

When I was pregnant with DD2, the old lady who lived next door asked me when my baby was due. I told her Christmas eve. She replied " I had a baby on Christmas eve, it died"!!!!!

A few weeks later I came outside to find a dead bird on the drive. The old lady appeared and said " ohh, seeing a dead bird when you are pregnant means a baby will die" !!!!

Dh was furious with her but I managed to keep him from berating an old lady !
