Not for nothing, for a bump on the head! It's quite a lot for a bump on the head which resolved within a couple of days, but there you go, some insurance companies do value claims on the high side, some you have to fight tooth and nail.

I think we're going round in circles here so maybe best to leave it. My DH was not hurt or injured in any way, we did not want to claim anything, we told people we didn't want to claim anything, and yet here we are with a cheque. I can't see that it makes sense but there you go.

glitterball · 19/09/2008 21:15

if you dont think you should have the money, then simply return the cheque. you cant be forced to accept it.
or shred it.
or cash it & donate the money to charity.

yanbu grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Of course we can return the cheque but how many other people would. Which means loads of money for non-claims which means higher premiums for everyone.

Makes sense to me. I think it's very wrong that money is being dished out to people who are not injured. And especially when they don't even claim. If the system is weighted to assume that everyone in a crash will pursue compensation for injuries even if they're not really injured, then no wonder insurance is so expensive.

I can't see what there is to argue with on that really.
