Now I have EVERY sympathy for those who have been stranded abroad due to the company's collapse (but more sympathy for those who have lost their jobs ), but I was and at a passenger at one of the foreign airports saying the situation was like a warzone.

It is annoying, frustrating, confusing and upsetting for the stranded people especially for those who still have no idea how they are getting home. But it is NOT like a warzone. The people fleeing from Hurricane Ike can liken their situation to a warzone, but the XL passenger aren't facing loss of home, possessions, and family members.

I find it really distasteful the way the media has been screeching about the "victims" whose holidays have been "ruined". Barely a mention of those who have lost their livelihoods and are at risk of losing their homses

Anyway, with Lehmans' going under today, XL and KS will quickly fade into relative insignificance

yes the XL thing is like the Wrapit thing. They're not victims, just unfortunate.

And buy some bloody travel insurance, people!

I know someone who had flights booked with XL, the one the flies to Turkey and also alitalia so a lot of bad luck at once.

I'm sad about the people on the aeroflot plane who lost their lives, but there's been hardly any coverage of that.
