I was just on the mothercare website and saw this.

I had to laugh when I saw it but is it just me or is this taking it too far with the whole designer look thing. It must be so uncomfy for the child and the price!!! WOW!

Would you ever buy something like this if you had the money?

OMG! The cat buggy! lol

BouncingTurtle · 06/09/2008 17:54

ROFL - yes I can really see Cod pushing you in THAT, Fabio!

Chipmunks - I did think about that one, but I don't think it'll fit in the boot of my DB9

notsoteenagemum · 06/09/2008 17:55

ROFL at the harrods pram where it says
'may we suggest' and pictures normal prams underneath, would love to edit it so it says 'may we suggest(coz this pram is both hideous and ridiculous)'
Went to New York in Jan and the pet prams they have there are something else.
Worst pram combo was Danniella Westbrook with burberry pram, outfit and child combo.

FabioBadAssCat · 06/09/2008 17:56

I have a selection of wigs.

themoon66 · 06/09/2008 18:00

The black leather mcclaren and the harrods pram both look like something the Devil's DW might favour. Sort of Adams Family don't you think?

GypsyMoth · 06/09/2008 18:21

that harrods pram...is it me?? or does it say newborn to 3 months??!!

Aarrgghh · 06/09/2008 18:25

I thought that - so it they will be too big after 3 months to be able to use it???

chipmunkswhereareyou · 06/09/2008 19:09

That's nearly £400 a week in that case....omg you could rent a couple of flats for that!

MrsTittleMouse · 06/09/2008 19:15

Our first car cost less than the Maclaren.
Love the comment about "strolls with newborn are even more magical" for the Harrods one. No mention of haggered new parents going round and round the block - anything to try to get the little bugger angel to sleep, and barely being able to walk in the first place as there are so many stitches then?

GrapeJelly · 06/09/2008 19:18

Perhaps the leather McClaren buggy is for Punk/Goth/Metal parents so they can co-ordinate it with their outfits?

treacletart · 06/09/2008 19:22

WHY??? Its fugly, will be uncomfortable and still has the rubbish maclaren breaks and steering - why maclarens are so popular is beyond me - they're so very badly designed.

blithedance · 06/09/2008 19:24

Before I had kids I had no idea as to the status enhancing properties of a pram. It's like the mummy equivalent of a car isn't it? You have to have a boring practical family car, so you can only express your style/personality/aspirations through another set of wheels.

bloomingfedup · 06/09/2008 19:26

You are right. prams are and can be fashion statements - I love to lust over them.

glucose · 06/09/2008 19:35

Spotted the leather one in Peter Jones a couple of years ago, not as shiny as in the picture. Sales Assistant tried to sell it as 'funky for Dads to push' How we laughed.

3andnomore · 07/09/2008 08:35

Wow at that Harrods Pram...Baby's must have been smaller in the past...what with it only being 85cm long (which is probably why it is only Newborn- 3 month, lol)....but would ne pay that much money for a secondhand Pram...hm..just because Prince Charles was driven about in it...hm...
should go into a museum...me thinks...best place for it...than it couldn't be inflicted on a poor innocent little Baby, lol

MamaMiaImADiva · 07/09/2008 20:30

ROFL at some of these! The Harrods pram is blardy ugly isn't it? Who in their tight mind would pay that. I must say I thought I was extravagent at £500 for my Emmaljunga LOL. Well I feel better now.

Bloomingfedup- I love prams if I had the money I'd buy loads but I wouldn't spend more than £200 on one nowadys LOL.

Thought the whole point of MacLaren's was that they are inexpensive and practical - can't even look at the harrod's one let alone the farking cat pram.

medu · 13/09/2009 20:27

Awww, I'm incredibly frustrated now! I was loving sitting here taking the mickey out of the McLaren, then clicked on the Harrods link. It just took me to the store homepage . Can anyone describe the Harrods pram (or pushchair) for me? I've had 3 kids and am a total pram addict. I think mine have all had about 6 or 7 apiece, with the most expensive being the 2001 Teutonia Y2K2 (I think that's the model, it's not available any more,I don't think) I saw Brooklyn Beckham in his and had to have it. Boy, was that thing heavy????? Anyway, with all the accessories, it cost me in the region of £700, which was a fair bit then. Bought my 1st expensive pram waaaay back in 1991 for my eldest DD. It was an Eichhorn (anyone remember them?). Big wheels were really unusual back then, and I loved the suspension, too. I've been through a few Emmaljunga's in my time, not to mention they all had coach-built Silver Cross or Marmets, too! I'm really curious about this Harrods one!!! And the MacLaren could be billed as the 'S&M Enthusiasts' Choice' don't you think?

oldraver · 13/09/2009 20:53

The leather Maclaren one has been around for a bit and used to be over £1000, I'm sure

hanaboo · 13/09/2009 21:22

wow medu, u really know your buggys don't u lol, i too love buggys, i thought i was bad
i can't see the harrods one either and i am intrigued.... the maclaren is ridiculously ugly tho isn't it? i don't like maclarens anyway...

Ridiculous price!

First thing I noticed was the usual rubbish maclaren wheels, then I noticed the leather

groundhogs · 13/09/2009 21:45

OMG! have seen it all now... cat push chair... off to have a lie down now...

HecatesTwopenceworth · 13/09/2009 21:53

HOW MUCH?????

feck me. What a price to pay for something that is going to get covered in mud, sweets and shit (oh yes. Those 'shoots out the back, all the way up into the hair' episodes. )

Ninks · 13/09/2009 21:58

I didn't see the Harrods one, had a nosy around the site and was busy being appalled at the price of some private school uniform. £28 for plain jogging bottoms

Have seen the leather pushchair before, it's horrid. Babies and leather - ugh.
