I have a feeling I might be ABU but friend says ANBU.

I graduate on FRiday from Uni, having a few drinks with friends in our uni club then home.
I had asked dh to plan something for the saturday, maybe a night away somewhere. He moaned about money and said it would have to be somewhere cheap which was fine I just thought it would be nice.
Anyway have not been able to get a sitter for dcs' and now he's just phoned and said:

'x just rung and asked if I wanna go to the rugby saturday then out for drinks, you dont mind do you'???

well yes I do, despite us not being able to get a sitter I thought maybe a graduation might have warranted a meal out, even if we take the dcs

So AIBU?

YANBU. Although I agree if you cannot get baby sitter only one of you should go....not him though!

SO because you can't both go away, he gets to enjoy himself and you get to have a shit time? Ask him how that is fair?

I would say well, ok then if that is your logic, I will be the one going out, you can stay in with the kids.

mosschops30 · 03/09/2008 16:07

where would i go on my own

suprisingly no reply to txt, twat!

Well at this point, mosschops, I would be wanting to make a point so would probably go anywhere!

Cinema? Book a hotel room to yourself and have a long hot silent bath with a book then watch a film or get room service. Peace!

mosschops30 · 03/09/2008 16:34

Ha if only i could afford it

do you think that he maybe didn't arrange anything cos he knew he wanted to go out to the rugby with his mates? What about going out sunday? I think you should get a present from him too

zwiggy · 03/09/2008 16:40

do you think he maybe didn't arrange anything cos he knew he wanted to watch the rugby with his mates? You could go out sunday. He should get you a present too.

you are going out on friday with your mates to celebrate tho and he's going out with his mates on saturday. I don't think he's so bad really

LazyLinePainterJane · 03/09/2008 16:42

How much would he spend on rugby and drinks?

mosschops30 · 03/09/2008 16:54

i definately wont get a present. He didnt arrange anything because we couldnt get a sitter.

With drinks and taxis on Saturday, probably about £50-60

I hate the "you don't mind do you?" As in, I have already said yes, just checking but I know I'm going anyway. That would annoy me the most.

Tortington · 03/09/2008 17:01

congrats.

i would go out and get wankered with mates on the graduation day - with out him - fuck him

let him go to rugby and get wankered.

whats good for the goose m'dear

still no excuse for the non appreciation of your huge achievent - for that you can kickhim in the MANjo - when he is wankered - empty his pockets of every last penny then watch him suirm when you sask him how much he spent...ask in passing ...then buy yerself sommat nice on the money he thought he pissed away.

alternatively you can turn all the clocks and watches back in your house - you can do his watch whilst he is wankered. - take two hours off his day - make him get up early with hangover and re-set clocks when he is out of the room.

his watch....? that must be his battery dying.

not that i have done this, taken dh to work with hangover - left him there in carpark at 7am waiting for someone to come and open up an hour later.

Well done on graduating.

I would have asked him how he was going to combine going out with looking after the DCS? He has been a tad presumptious.
