To think a BBC News Presenter shouldn't use the word 'Chav'?

On BBC Breakfast this morning, the woman presenter (dont know her name) was interviewing people from the antiques roadshow.

She said 'All I want to know is how much is it worth, god we're such 'Chav's'.

I found this a bit .

no YANBU. It is not appropriate for her to use the term in a derogatory fashion, if at all. that's for us MNers to do!

in that context it is fine, chav always = vulgar when I hear it

sounds like she was trying to be amusing

We have had a thread about the word Chav before haven't we?

It was said in a derogatory manner. You could have replaced the sentence with, "we're so vulgar."

I don't like the way she used the word 'God' in the context either. I know many people say it but a BBC presenter should know better.

The BBC present was being unreasonable.
