what kind of site is that?
must admit, after clicking on teh salamis I was led to that site and , erm, just closed it without reading any further

hecate · 29/08/2008 09:25

I don't get it, it's just a picture of salamis. Confused

3andnomore · 29/08/2008 09:30

I think it's the site you go into after you clicked a Salami...but....like I said, once that opened I closed it rather quickly!

hecate · 29/08/2008 09:35

oh. ok.

solidgoldbrass · 29/08/2008 09:35

I just got salamis as well, will have to go back and have another look.
And EVERTYHING is fair game for jokes and satire, including paedophilia, genocide all religions and abortion rights, whether individuals find them funny or not. If you are a bleater who is easily offended, stay off humourous sights so you don't have to spend forever wiping the spittle off your monitor and changing your rage-drenched underwear.

3andnomore · 29/08/2008 09:36

It wasn't a humerous site...it's some kind of sex-facebook...

solidgoldbrass · 29/08/2008 09:38

Well even more reason why bleaters should avoid it. They might see some KNICKERS or something.

hecate · 29/08/2008 09:39

Well, excuse me for a moment while I am an easily offended bleater....

SPAZMOS?????

random SPAZMOS?

Idiots.

'humerous' ?, yes, well, maybe if you're 5.

That looks like a site for teens (and not the good, nice teens either..the other type of teen...) I can't imagine any adult wasting their time on something so childish, so maybe we can try to rise above it on the grounds that they are young and (very very very) ignorant?

hecate · 29/08/2008 09:40

humerous?

Obviously I mean humorous.

3andnomore · 29/08/2008 09:41

lol....
like I said I didn't take the time to look around, because I don't like those kind of sites...and I assumed it was a jokesite, so, was a bit when led to that kind of site....

tbh, op, maybe you could a warning with the link, in order to make people aware what sort of site you linking to....I mean no problem if it is a harmless non offending piece you linking to....but you know....

angelnyx · 29/08/2008 10:36

Some sort of sex facebook aimed at teens? I've been a member of faceparty for over 6 years now and I will admit it has gone downhill in the last year or so. But I met my partner on there almost 5 years ago and we're both perfectly normal members of society! I still use it to this day to keep in touch with friends across the country, although not so much these days since the over 35's

It's just a social networking site (one of the first I might add) aimed at open minded adults. Yes there is some content of a sexual nature on there (which can't be viewed by members aged 16 & 17) but it's put there by the users and it's certainly not the be all and end all of the site. It's one of the few corners of the internet left in which normal adults can remain without being heavily censored.

If you're personally offended by it then it's almost certainly not the site for you. In that case I'd suggest avoiding it rather than complaining about how awful it is. The internet is also full of sites about guns or containing pornography, some people like them and visit them often, others don't and avoid them altogether. Infact, faceparty are going to great lengths to make sure you don't end up a member unless you're a like minded person by requiring a password to join up. The password changes weekly and is only given out at night clubs/gigs etc at which their target users might be found. It's not being forced on you so perhaps the best approach is to leave each to their own and let us all live together in harmony.

wow...passwords that change weekly and you will only find out in nightclubs....sounds like the system Slimming World uses

angel...after clicking on the salamis you get led to the mainpage and to me it became immediatey clear that it was a sexual site ( hence me leaving asap...)....so, tose things will be viewed by those 17 and under though....

3andnomore · 29/08/2008 10:58

oh, and yes, I meant humorous, too...lol

angelnyx · 29/08/2008 11:05

I completely agree KerryMum, but as a website they're doing all they can aren't they? The password required to join isn't given out at places where those under 16 are usually found and they're now checking email addresses against the sexual offenders list. Members wishing to view or post content of an adult sexual nature are required to pay to have their age verified. That's more than most sites are doing! And don't forget that we as parents have to shoulder some of the responsibility too by monitoring our childrens internet useage.

Mamazon · 29/08/2008 11:12

I just looked at the site again and it has now changed and lost the "peedo" referrences.
so i took a look around.
I found teh forum page.

{shock] clearly i am an old fuddy duddy and just not "down wiv da yoof" because im afraid i just don't find the use of terms such as "spazmo's" "retards" and "slutfests" acceptable.

clearly being 27 i am too old for the site!

Look, if you are that easily traumatized by websites devoted to unfunny jokes and rudery, then maybe you should go and lie down in a darkened room with a lavender-scented hanky up your chuff and avoid the internet altogether! Or at least stick to sites you know are for whiners like-minded people who never swear or fart or snigger.
