I found mn a few years ago and think it's blardy fantastic. Mners have given me advice, reassured me, made me (and DH) cry laughing (and even wee a bit!)
I don't post often but do lurk quite a bit, but all these "mn is really cliquey" threads are pissing me off. How can the internet be cliquey ffs?!
I love Mn for it's different views, sometimes I agree sometimes I don't but hey that's ok
Anyway that's all I wanted to say, just needed to rant!
And note to newbies we all get ignored, this post will probably be ignored but I won't cry I'll just think you all hate me are busy

IAteDavinaForDinner · 27/08/2008 14:39

Bloody hell, thought I'd somehow found myself in a parallel universe, or Netmums, or something!

mou · 27/08/2008 14:39

i'm a newby and i think MN is brill, sure there are conversations that i don't feel comfortable about joining in but that's just like life, otherwise you just have to 'introduce' yourself and jump in. i've had a really crappy 18 mmonths and over the last 3 weeks MN has changed my coping ability because i know someone somewhere is going through something similar.

i wouldn't expect to be agreed with all the time but mostly it's all been supportive.

in fact i've probably 'conversed' with people i wouldn'n come across in everyday life so it's expanding my horizons as well.

can't type properly as i have just cut the top of my thumb off...have accidentally deleted this message once.

anyway as a newby, cheers to y'all, i look forwared to more MNing

IAteDavinaForDinner · 27/08/2008 14:40

mou said "can't type properly as i have just cut the top of my thumb off"

You'll be right at home here

stretchmarkqueen · 27/08/2008 14:44

Don't worry Mou! Half the time I'm on here, I'm bf ds, who likes to wiggle, and I can't use CAPS or punctuation!!

I prefer the one finger typing though!

Sorry about your thumb.

Netmums!! pmsl!

Mamazon · 27/08/2008 14:46

I cant spell, am thick as a brick and mostly rude and insensetive.

But feck it i love it here and no amount of banning me will make me stop

scottishmummy · 27/08/2008 14:52

have you be banned Mamazon great quote you should use that for your CV describing your qualities

mou · 27/08/2008 14:58

ta, SMQ and IAteD. one in a long line of mou mishaps, thinking of starting a blog. don't think i'll be learning the bass guitar for a week or two!!! time for a cuppa and a large piece of cake ( which i will cut with a blunt implement).

Mamazon · 27/08/2008 15:00

theressomethingaboutmarie · 27/08/2008 15:06

It's funny how those who post discussing the negativity on mumsnet don't consider for a moment that THEY are spreading negativity! This place is great. I've had so much support and offered support to others (when not being a thread killer at least...).

marymungoandmidge · 27/08/2008 15:17

Hello...yes its a great place to be (creep creep)....I am relatively new by the way...hello ...anybody there??????????

FabioTheFlouncingCat · 27/08/2008 15:25

lol mou but your poor thumb

even cod's disasterous typing hasn't rendered her unopposable

Which key did it? Was it the slash key?

//// there go my paws!

It is much safer to eat the entire cake than risk death by slicing it.

MN is fab and irritating by turns - bit like life really. The argumentative threads more make me snigger than anything else. I've been around for about 3 years.

I lurk quite a lot but have regular posting bursts and have had great advice and support.

crunchynutter · 27/08/2008 15:28

hi! I'm a newbie too! I love it but my sister has been on for a long time so I thought it only right to let her know who I am on here! I thank her for sharing her mumsnet secret! I too think some people are a little sensitive in the same way some are argumentative- I also get confused soMetimes about why people seem to be arguing (I'm either thick or very laid back ) awww well, it cheers me up popping on MN, maybe I should post more and lurk less!

expatinscotland · 27/08/2008 15:28

cod's a farkin fraek and you'd have to be crazy to be in her 'click'.

marymungoandmidge · 27/08/2008 15:28

Ooh I'll shut up and go way then....

FabioTheFlouncingCat · 27/08/2008 15:28
