I decided to go shopping today and town was really busy - lots of the pedestrian area closed for refurbishment.

So, as I get to a bottleneck in the pavement, I had to slow down to avoid running into the people in front.

At this point, I always tend to find people behind you get annoyed for going slow with a pushchair and try and push in front of you, slowing you down even more!

So I carried on and ran over her foot.......

I do it alot on a busy saturday in town I use the buggy as a battering ram to get through crowds of stupid people standing in the middle of the pavement reading bloody tourist maps. I always smile and apologise.

My brother ranted about bloody buggies inlondon until he took DS1 out for a walk when we were staying with him. He came back telling all about how people just stopped in front of him then tutted when he acidentally hit them.

I find that a lot of people just wander aimlessly along toward you and are obviosly not going to move for you. So I gaze into the middle distance and head straight for them. I would not endanger my LOs of course in fact this manoevre is best done with anice big pram with carrycot. Usually dopey member of the public comes awake at the last second and is astounded to find someone blocking their way. "oh dearie me I am sorry" heh,heh heh. Old folks are the grumpiest when required to shift their arses but I guess I'll be exactly the same when Im old.

I feel like doing that sort of thing all the time. It's amazing how many people just assume that you must be walking slower than them with a buggy, overtake you and then walk more slowly just under the wheels than you ever were in the first place.

I think you are being a little unreasonable. I find some mothers with push chairs seem to use them like ram-raiders particularly at the school gates where there are a couple of bottle necks.

Also I don't understand the mothers that park the pushchairs sideways on to the various entrances so no one can get past! Bizarre. I think running over someone's foot is a nasty thing to do. I'm 8 months pg and hate to have my ankles rammed into from behind!

Pedestrians are thoughtless I'm sure but it all goes both ways imho! Don't get me started on motorists!
