To throw away every last bit of 'food' my brother has dared to tarnish my house with?

Sigh.

He came yesterday, he's moving into a new shared house on Saturday. I really regret letting him stay here 'between houses'. Already!

He has set up his two computers, four monitors and laptop, oh and xbox 360 , a mini fridge and microwave in my spare room and has barely left the room.

There are cables and stinky trainers everywhere.

But his biggest crime is the food. Last night I made a really tasty dinner. He said he wasn't hungry then half an hour later plonked himself on the sofa with a huge box of horrid looking fried 'chicken' which stank the house out.

This morning he's been shopping and bought 12, yes 12, 'rustlers' burgers (nasty microwavable things) 8 litres of pepsi and micro chips. I didn't even know micro chips existed anymore! These burgers are so horrid and they smell so so bad.

I swear I'll have to get the curtains drycleaned before the smell comes out fully.

My mum will be furious if I let him eat like that, but he's an adult, and I have little choice. No wonder he was kicked out of his old house.

GROSS! Sweeties in voddy?!

and I don't even like voddy.

but doing that to perfectly good alcohol is just wrong.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 13/08/2008 15:19

I think the point is you do it to perfectly rubbish alcohol (i.e tescos own vodka) or am I wrong?

I'd never tarnish a good bottle like that.

Wow I came on here for a communal tut about rubbish food and have instead picked up a yummy tip involving vodka that I didn't know.

Does the addition of the Opal Fruits turn it into a sort of adult Froot Shoot??

Rhubarb · 13/08/2008 15:21

My mother buys Micro-chips and frozen veg, micro burgers etc. She did used to be able to cook from scratch, but I don't think her oven gets touched now unless it's to heat up a pizza.

Have you tried vodka fruit jellies?

TsarChasm · 13/08/2008 15:22

Mmmmmmmm Thai green curry.

expatinscotland · 13/08/2008 15:22

I stay away from voddy these days, Rhu.

It's left me with flashbacks .

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 13/08/2008 15:24

are opal fruits made by, god forbid, nestle?

TequilaMockinBird · 13/08/2008 15:24

Cant find any Opal Fruits in the DD's sweetie drawer but I have found FruitSalad chewy things!

Will chop them up later when she's in bed and try it!

This morning my darling brother told me he doesn't brush his teeth. His reasoning was that his toothpaste was always being nicked, plus he chews chewing gum constantly and apparantly fillings are quite cheap, so work out better economy wise.
I pmsl. Not sure how serious he was but I won't be mentioning it to my mum.

Watermelon vodka is the Schnitzel

Make a hole in the top, pour in a bit of vodka, bung in the freezer and gradually top up.

Lionstar · 13/08/2008 15:29

PMSL that fillings are cheaper than toothpaste/brushes

ShowOfHands · 13/08/2008 15:32

Tell your darling brother what real grown up ladies think of real grown up men who don't brush their teeth.

If he wants to get laid, he needs to brush his teeth. And learn to cook.

My friend puts chillis in his vodka and freezes it. He's a squaddie though so a bit mad.

I wouldn't normally say 'get laid' btw. I'm trying to speak his language. You know, young people's language. I didn't think make love would cut it.

LittleBella · 13/08/2008 15:34

Oh god your brother sounds minging.

Doesn't wash his teeth? Because he prefers fillings?

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuw. That's even worse than the rustler burgers.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 13/08/2008 15:38

Why waste a perfectly good packet of starburst on vodka???

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 13/08/2008 15:44

Ha ha he just heard me laughing and I told him why.

He wants you all to know he has a very expensive sonic toothbrush and brushes after every (disgusting) meal.

And Vodka with Jelly Babies is by far the best, you amateurs.

How he got into a top uni I'll never know, bless him.

The vodka thing works with skittles tooo.....ooooooh, taste the rainbow!!!

Overmydeadbody · 13/08/2008 15:47

I have to agree with the jelly babies, by far the best.

And yes, always cheap vodka.

mum2taylor · 13/08/2008 15:48

oh! but dont use the green ones... dont ask me why though???

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 13/08/2008 15:50

im buying vodka and starburst for tonight and rustlers for tommorrow....oh wait its not the weekend yet is it? oh well plenty of time to freeze the vodka watermelon then.

im off to phone my sister now and ask if i can join her in her slatterny student ways this weekend

raggety · 13/08/2008 15:56

Talking of stinking the house out (and changing topic slightly), I used to live in a rented house where the landlord (who worked abroad) would occasionally turn up unannounced at the weekend with a crowd of his family and mates and take over the sitting room to watch sport. (One time, I didn't hear him arrive and came downstairs in just a towel!) His excuse was that he rented individual rooms out in the house and so the communal areas were fair game for him to use, even though he didn't live there. The stinky aspect was that he would heat up a fish curry in the microwave (pong!) and sit on the sofa with his trainers off, drinking from cans, flicking dry-roasted peanuts onto the carpet and smoking. I found somewhere else to live.

raggety · 13/08/2008 16:01

The Swedes fill up vodka bottles with hard-boiled liquorice sweets.

BexieID · 13/08/2008 16:16

Now I know what to do with that bottle of Vodka in the cupboard and I actually have some Starburst in! It's only a small bottle though, so will have a pack suffice?
