Today i saw a woman at the swing park with three children, one was naked from the waist down, dirty and drinking a bottle of coke (must have been no more than 2), the other two were older and i felt..............

envious. The woman looked relaxed and happy, her kiddies were playing really nicely, no whinging or crying, happily left when it was time to go. Her little boy probably aged about 6 took time to play with my DD, they were polite and lovely children.

I bloody well wish i had the confidence to not be such an uptight mum

Took DS to the parc yesterday for a quick play. The fountain was on and another wee fella was playing in it too. Both of them got soaked through. The other little one was dragged off home by the mum and nanny to get dried and changed. I just stripped DS to his nappy and carried on playing.

The rest of the mums probably thought I was barking, but they think I'm "eccentric" and "interesting" here anyway .

Haribo are food of the gods, nothing better than a bag of cola bottles

Glad I have started the haribo debate !!!

lucyellensmum · 06/08/2008 18:47

sorry vag but i have to disagree - i like cola bottles, well i used to, when you could actually get decent ones, The haribo ones are a poor substitute at best.

FabioFridgeFluffFrenzy · 06/08/2008 19:02

Oh fgs.

I opened this thinking it was going to be filled with judgy harpies shrieking DM style, then someone usingthe word 'chav' and someone else being accused of being a troll and then lots of 'I've reported your post so ner' and then someone from MNHQ would have to come on and post 'calm down dears, it's only a cola bottle.' I was really looking forward to it, I thought it would be a great laugh. And here you all are being reasonable.

Pah.

I've been in a bunfight today. Thread got reported to MNHQ.(preens) MNHQ should do a crimewatch about all the lairy threads for the rubberneckers amonst us.

FabioFridgeFluffFrenzy · 06/08/2008 19:27

For some reason - I think it was the stripes and someone rounding up cows - this sprang to mind. Was this them?

Do you lean across your fellow madges and peer over your pince nez and say, I bet she's the sort of woman who gives her child coca cola in the park. And then you all nod sadly, inwardly skipping at the Joy of Judging.

'MN Publications: Joy of Judging'
It shall be my first book.

filthymindedvixen · 06/08/2008 19:41

cornsilk? You never!!

Go and put on some horizontal stripes forthwith. ??

matildax · 06/08/2008 19:43

LEM,i think the woman sounds relaxed and carefree, some of us should take a leaf out of her book. i think the lets out do each other on who does the "best" job with regard to parenting brigade (mentioning NO names!!) on here, should have a serious long hard look at themselves in the mirror before 'casting the first stone'
i applaud your jelousy.

silentmadge · 06/08/2008 19:47

What an earth is wrong with a naked 2 year old in a public place anyway? What do people think will happen?

i like the milk bottles best - in the harribo
can't stand fizzy cola

DillyTanty · 06/08/2008 19:51

if your dd is potty training, no trousers. much easier for a pee-pee in the park. that's dd's biggest treat at teh moment, a wazz on the grazz...

FabioFridgeFluffFrenzy · 06/08/2008 19:52

Is a home made dildo a crime?
Get a new photographer.

(video was Cravendale advert - Meeelllkkk! MMMMEEEEELLLLKKKKKK!)

DillyTanty · 06/08/2008 19:52

by which i mean of course, a skirt. not just letting them run around naked from the waist down. although dd did race around the piazza navona quite recently in this manner.

MogTheForgetfulCat · 06/08/2008 19:55

I'm having trouble getting DS1 (2.5) to keep any of his clothes on at the moment. He is a little nudist, and seems impervious to adverse weather (of which there has been much lately. Not cold, though). No coke, though - he disdains fizzy.

I bloody love haribo - might have to get off my bum and go and buy some now...
