If she has any idea what DD did with the remote control for the freeview today?

for the record I haven't done it, just wondering - hoping not to get flamed too badly

It is my dream to go out and take the remote with me

Dh has to have it by his side otherwise he starts to panic. I, on the otherhand love to hide it. I once but it in a teapot

Littlefish · 30/07/2008 23:09

No Kew - it's always in the fridge (if I've had it), or in a special-secret-magical-mysterious-hiding box along with a burst balloon, several tissues and a barbie doll if dd has had it .

cheesesarnie · 30/07/2008 23:10

one of my sisters 'accidently' took the remote control to school!

Habbibu · 30/07/2008 23:11

I wouldn't mind at all. edam - I am the loser of things in House of Hab, and Mr Hab the finder.

cheesesarnie · 30/07/2008 23:11

its always in under the seat of the push along car here or on top of the telly(but obviously becomes invisable)

VinegarTits · 30/07/2008 23:11

At least its not something of great value, my ds put my company mobile in the bin once, never saw it again, binman had taken it by the time i realised, at least the company were insured!

Found ours in the garden today, although has been found in under the cushion cover before!

ThatBigGermanPrison · 30/07/2008 23:15

It's only unreasonable to enquire of the whereabouts of things that never get moved - such as medicine spoons, vests etc. Remotes get moved.

I would add - look for it first.

chipmonkey · 30/07/2008 23:24

Dh's nephew has always been "challenging" and when he was 3 he had a bit of a run-in with FIL. As he left their house, he turned around and said "You not watch TV no more, Grandad!" Well, MIL and FIL could not find the remote anywhere after he left and they rang SIL, who asked her ds1 where the remote was but he pretended to know nothing. Until SIL went to change her ds2's nappy and found that her ds1 had stuffed the remote down the back of his little brother's babygro as he knew no-one would check there!

edam · 30/07/2008 23:29

Ah, dh and I are equally bad at being unable to find things ourselves and having to ask the other one, who finds it straight away. Leading to much glaring and assumption that the finder had deliberately hidden it from the loser. On each side!

I can look in all the obvious and less obvious places ten times for the pair of shoes I particularly need, with no success. Appeal to dh and he will find them straight away, on the shoe rack, in plain sight. And I will think: 'HOW? You must have hidden them and be doing a magician up your sleeve trick just to wind me up'. And he's just as bad when he can't find something - I get it first time while he's glaring at me, thinking 'she hid it! Deliberately to wind me up!'

MKG · 30/07/2008 23:39

Is it in the bathroom? (yes dh loves his remote so much sometimes he takes it with him)

lurkingdad · 31/07/2008 19:14

well it turned out the remote control was in the car. Somebody didn't check what DD had in her hands as they strapped her in the car seat yesterday and it was found by chance this morning. I think no matter how much I tidied the house I would never have looked there.

Thanks for all your helpful suggestions of where to look though.

Chipmonkey - ROFL!

lurkingdad · 31/07/2008 19:36

I didn't call but did tell her about this thread which she laughed her way through this evening.

She was out for a meal with friends but I happened to notice as soon as she left the house when (after quickly tidying the whole house from top to bottom and doing all the chores left for me)I slumped on the sofa to watch TV so that my energy was conserved if DD woke and needed me

agree with2pointfour tidy up. my dh did that for me once when i went out and lets just say he was justly rewarded

thumbwitch · 31/07/2008 22:23

lol lurkingdad - well done for doing all the tidying and not phoning DW! perhaps you need to have one of those whistling detector thingies attached to the remote control?
