My 7 year old dd sets ours up!

Jux · 25/07/2008 13:54

He is being completely unreasonable. Divorce him at once

TillyScoutsmum · 25/07/2008 13:59

Ooh - I got mine on Monday and DP was too tired to do it on Monday night so I had to wait until Tuesday. Can you believe it ?!!

Its great though - very addicted and your virtual age is scary as hell

almostblue · 25/07/2008 14:00

Whatever you do, Twiglett - don't touch it!

My dp has explained this all to me. Females leak something called 'pheromones' from their fingertips. If they touch anything electrical (particularly, for some reason, remote controls), it will almost instantly become faulty, and in extreme cases, blow up.

Knit yourself another puppy... and wait...

MrsRecycle · 25/07/2008 14:01

I can send dd round to set it up - she's saving up to buy a limo so needs some extra money.

DaDaDa · 25/07/2008 14:03

Tsk.

Women.

Twiglett · 25/07/2008 14:05

I am watching him set it up

it is so not plug and play .. what are you lot talking about

there are currently 3 wires (red, white and yellow) plugged into the front of my tv which is on some feature menu with an ET2 input and AV and stuff

yeah right .. I'm not going anywhere near that stuff

plug and play indeed

LoveMyGirls · 25/07/2008 14:06

Twig you are just like me, there are many things I am good at but things with wires isn't one of them! If I'm the first to put the tv on you can bet for no reason it will either look like snow or stop working so then i press buttons and it won't let me do normal things like put the guide on it will only let me change the style of screen so i get black bits at the sides....... usually happens when he's out, whihc is sods law so i have to ring him for over the phone instructions while his friends laugh because i can't even use the tv on my own lol!

Twiglett · 25/07/2008 14:07

there is swearing

OP posts:
MrsRecycle · 25/07/2008 14:18

you have to put the sensor bar on top of the tv - its probably fallen off onto his head

TheMagnificent7 · 25/07/2008 14:18

I've got a Wii Fat. It plugs into the fridge

Twiglett · 25/07/2008 14:21

he appears to have buggered up the entire tv system .. we now just have snow

OP posts:
podsquash · 25/07/2008 14:24

I bet you could have done it by now. Say that to him and see how he reacts.

My hubbie is also an IT nerd and yet sometimes manages to cock up the most straightforward seeming things. Partially through refusing to read instructions properly.

VanillaPumpkin · 25/07/2008 14:30

Sold out .

I am bored of searching for them to be sold out.

Do you need to buy the sensor bar? Or does it come with it.....

Fingers crossed Twig. Bet you are glad you didn't try to set it up now

MrsRecycle · 25/07/2008 14:33

comes with it but don't chuck it away like I did thinking it was rubbish.

Dragonbutter · 25/07/2008 14:39

has that good for nothing no sorted it out yet.
sheesh.

VanillaPumpkin · 25/07/2008 14:39

Ah, top tip thank you MrsR.

Twiglett · 25/07/2008 14:46

yeah it's buggered .. we now have no tv .. and so no wii either

he's still trying though

OP posts:
TillyScoutsmum · 25/07/2008 14:48

DP suffered from DIY tourettes as well when doing ours... I reckon I could have done it if I'd have wanted to

Oblomov · 25/07/2008 14:48

We told you not to touch it

MrsWeasley · 25/07/2008 14:49

my 11 year old set ours up and he is not at all good with that sort of thing.

Perhaps he is G&T?
or
perhaps you need a G&T!

Oblomov · 25/07/2008 14:49

LOL @ "DIY tourettes"

Twiglett · 25/07/2008 15:26

well the tv now works but the Wii still isn't set up

OP posts:
posieflump · 25/07/2008 15:28

VanillaPumpkin - my bf just walked into H&V or Virgin and asked on thw offchance and they had had some delivered that morning (5 I think) so don't give up just yet!

DaphneMoon · 25/07/2008 15:29

It took me ages to find my Wii, I would love a wii fit, are they hard to get hold of now too? I was told that the manufacturers did not anticipate such a high demand as they got when the first produced the Wii and that was why there was not enough, you would think they would have learned by that and produced more Wii fit.
