I'm going to have a whinge.

I hate people sneezing and not covering their mouths.

I hate people coughing and not covering their mouths.

I hate people spitting or coughing up great big balls of green phlegm and leaving them on the pavement.

I hate people leaving their dog sh*t on the pavement.

There. I've had my moan. Am I really being all that unreasonable? Or is anyone else with me?

Quite a lot of people spit where I live, and I think it might be connected to Ramadan. Some muslims include saliva in the ban on drinking before sundown, and I have noticed an increase in spitting around that time of year! So...why not use a tissue??!

Interestingly, even if there is a religious connection, I can't say that I've noticed muslim women doing it...maybe men all over the world have more of a 'let it all hang out' attitude?!

Also Cies, I've seen the nose hose thing as well - ! Even the muckiest, dirt-raking hippo in a mudbath would have a problem with that.

I believe that spitting in public is technically still illegal - hang over from some Victorian public health laws to do with spread of TB. If I am right, I'd really love to see it enforced (perhaps a more popular use for traffic wardens than ticketing cars - ticket gobby anti-socials).

And re women not doing it - not so long ago I saw a mother walking along our street to the local primary and she did a massive spit on the pavement. Didn't dare say anything as she looked the type to take violently against any criticism...
