So, I think I am about to be offered dream job, a training contract (trainee solicitor) to start this autumn.

But I think I am pregnant.

Haven't done test yet, but frankly pretty certain. Am over a week late.

Let's assume I am pregnant, am I being unreasonble to accept the job? Could they get rid of me when they find out (it's a fixed term contract - does that make a difference?)

And when do I tell them????

I'm sorry to hear that changedname

Good luck with the job xx

Hope you get your dream job, my little sister's about to start a training contract and I work in an inhouse legal dept (not as a lawyer though) and I know how hard those jobs are to get.

I would have said take the job and tell them later, you still have to get through a probationary period and I imagine your job security as a trainee solicitor is precarious.

For obvious reasons I don't know if you're already a mum or you've posted on TTC or what your situation is, but while I think there's nothing ethically wrong with waiting a while to tell your employer if you can hide a pregnancy, I do think delaying baby plans would be a good idea if possible. Getting and completing that contract is probably one of the hardest bits of a solicitor's career.

I have never hugged on MN, nor been hugged. Am I missing an important section of MN?

Lollypopzmummy · 21/07/2008 00:44

what is "babydancing"?

ninedragons · 21/07/2008 07:10

Fucking.

Lollypopzmummy · 21/07/2008 10:51

seriously? What a rather strange name for it!! Are they a bit sick in the head?

talilac · 21/07/2008 10:54

Mind you, they probably think we are very rude for saying fucking!

MrsTittleMouse · 21/07/2008 11:07

DH and I always called it "fucking for a baby" as we hated "trying" so much.

Good luck with the job changedname.

Lollypopzmummy · 21/07/2008 14:31

There are so many ways of saying it already, did they really need to conjure up another word?
I prefer the term Shaaaaaag baby yeah!
Each to their own and all that though
When I saw the word "babydancing" I just thought it was like a dance class for taking you baby to, you know, like the sign classes, swim classe etc!

Lollypopzmummy · 21/07/2008 14:32

So what do they call it if you're not trying to conceive?

Sorry, I've kind of hijacked the thread here!

Good luck on getting the job changedname!
xXx

I don't think the users of those boards get the concept of purely recreational sex.
