Another one that I find more funny than irritating is

'so I turned around and said to her X and she turned around and said....'

I have this image of two people having a conversation and spinning about all over the place .

The cleaner at our halls of residence when I was at University used to tell us every detail of what was going on in her life at the time and there was much 'turing around' invloved in her conversations. She had a really broad Devon accent which made it all the funnier to hear - was very hard to sit and listen and not giggle

I have heard my DP say "going forward" in work conversations. Grrrr. Not only that, he's started to say "you alright?" instead of "how are you?". Double grrrrr. Is this grounds for common-law divorce?

treacletart - I agree with '...of age' - makes me mad !!, especially old goats saying 'I'm 85 years of age' - so what ?
actually, '...years young' is equally unpleasant !
