Apparently the KS1 results are being sent home with school reports today.

I know everyone says they are meaningless but I really want to know how she got on.

It might be a PFB moment but I don't care!

you need to get reading into how to read the results. its a bit gibberishlike, but no YANBU, just a little PFBish;)

How to read the results? So they're not given as a percentage or anything like that? (ie, simple or straightforward)

No,

It is based on a scale of numbers so

1c
1b
1a
2c
2b
2a
3c
3a
3b

in ascending order

In theory children should be working within level 2 in Year 2 (tho that doesn't follow on for all years, ie Year 6 not 6c, 6b, 6a) with some children still working to attain that, and others reaching up to a level 3.

In year 1 you may have been given a level for Reading, Writing and Mathematics (we were at our school) and so you would hope for improvement from that, of maybe 1 or 2 levels
ie 1a improves to a 2b

11 to 14 year old's results are delayed i just read, won't know until later in the year!

Mercy · 04/07/2008 16:07

I saw that too, SEA - are the tests/results for that age group more significant?

Thanks for the explanation MingMing!
